New Delhi- The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a notice regarding the allocation of MBBS and BDS Seats from the Central Pool for spouses and children of terrorist victims for the academic year 2025-26.

As per the letter written to the states and UTs, during the academic year 2025-26, 4 MBBS seats from the Central Pool have been earmarked in the various medical colleges/institutes for nomination of candidates by the Ministry of Home Affairs from the category of Civilian victims of terrorism. Below is the detailed seating-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

i Candidate must be either the spouse or the children of the deceased/disabled civilian victim of terrorism.

ii He/she has completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course and is an Indian National.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

As per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation of the National Medical Commission, the candidate must have passed in subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-Technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks for the Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40% marks for the SC/ST/OBC category. For persons with disabilities (PWD), marks for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC category, taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology at the qualifying examination.

QUALIFYING PERCENTILE IN NEET UG 2025

As per the Graduate Medical Education Regulation of the National Medical Commission, it shall be necessary for the candidates to obtain a minimum 50th percentile for the Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40th percentile for the SC/ST/OBC category. For persons with disabilities (PwD) - 45th percentile for Unreserved & Gen-EWS category; 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC category. The percentile shall be determined based on the highest marks secured in the All India common merit list in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test for admission to MBBS/BDS courses.

SELECTION CRITERIA

i Priority-I- Children whose both parents have been killed by terrorists.

ii Priority-II- Children of families whose sole breadwinners have been killed by terrorists.

iii Priority-III- Wards of victims with permanent disability and serious injury caused by terrorist operations.

"It is requested that applications alongwith all documents duly attested by Home Department of the concerned State/UT of eligible candidates under the category of Civilian Victims of Terrorism, as indicated above, may be sent latest by 31/08/2025, by speed post/registered post to: Rajeev Kumar, Under Secretary (CT-II), Hall No. 35051F, 5th Floor, Kartavya Bhavan 3, New Delhi-110001. Scanned copies of the application alongwith all documents be also sent to e-mail," it said.
