NBE adopts NMC PwBD guidelines for PG medical admissions 2026, maps courses

The announcement, issued through an NBEMS notice on its official website, is applicable to NBEMS-accredited institutions and aspiring NBEMS trainees.

The move follows the PwBD assessment guidelines notified by the NMC on September 16, 2026, concerning admissions to postgraduate medical courses for 2026. NBEMS has now officially adopted these guidelines for its stakeholders.

Further, NBEMS has informed that its courses and specialities for the 2026 academic session have also been mapped in accordance with the PwBD guidelines notified by the NMC.

This means that the applicable NMC mapping will form the basis for dealing with matters concerning PwBD candidates seeking admission to NBEMS courses and specialities during the 2026 academic session.

The Board has specifically stated that all matters and issues relating to PwBD candidates will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the applicable mapping notified by the NMC.

NBEMS has advised all concerned stakeholders, including its accredited institutions and aspiring trainees, to carefully go through the NMC guidelines and the related notice and ensure compliance with the applicable provisions.

The notice also provides access to the detailed guidelines notified by the NMC for stakeholders seeking information on the assessment and applicable mapping for PwBD candidates.

The latest NBEMS notice, therefore, brings its 2026 postgraduate courses and specialities under the PwBD assessment framework and mapping notified by the NMC on September 16, with institutions and candidates expected to follow the applicable provisions during the admission process.
