NBE declares round 1 Post Diploma DNB counselling allotment results, candidates must report by July 15

Along with the results, NBEMS has issued detailed instructions regarding seat acceptance, upgradation, reporting timelines, and the consequences of failing to exercise the available counselling options.

According to the notice issued by the NBE in this regard, a candidate willing to join the allotted seat must exercise the "Accept and Freeze" option within the stipulated timeline. Upon selecting this option, the allotted seat shall be frozen in the candidate's favour, and the candidate will not be eligible to participate in any subsequent round(s) of counselling.

The candidate must thereafter download the Seat Allotment Letter from the NBEMS Counselling Portal and join the allotted institute by 15 July 2026, 1700 hrs. The list of documents required for joining and other relevant details are available in the Handbook for Centralised Merit-based Online Counselling for Admission to Post Diploma DNB Seats for the academic year 2026 Admission Session.

According to the Handbook, below is the list of prescribed documents which were to be uploaded at the time of registration in the 1st round of counselling. All documents that are uploaded on the Counseling website by the candidate shall need to be produced in original for verification at the time of joining at the allotted institute/hospital. Failure to produce the original documents will make the candidate ineligible for participating in the Counseling or for admission to the seat allotted to him/ her & attract penalty

1 MBBS Degree certificate.

2 Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification Pass certificate/ Provisional Pass Certificate.

However, if the candidate has passed Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification and the Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification Certificate has not been issued to him/ her so far by the concerned University/ Board, documentary evidence to this effect in the form of a letter from the competent authority of the respective University/ Board is to be furnished at the time of registration for Counselling. The letter should confirm that the final certificate has not been issued to the candidate as on date and the same shall be conferred in the next convocation of the University, which is yet to be held.

3 Permanent Registration certificate issued by MCI/ State Medical Council for registration of MBBS qualification as well as Post Graduate Diploma qualification.

4 Proof of having passed the Post Graduate Diploma final examination on or before 31st January, 2026.

5 Screenshot of NMC website confirming that the Post Graduate Diploma Medical Qualification is recognised as per NMC Act, 2019 and the repealed Indian Medical Council Act, 1956.

6 Matriculation/ High School/ Higher Secondary Certificate as proof of Date of Birth.

7 SC/ST/PWD/OBC/EWS certificate issued by competent authority, if applicable. Caste certificate must be issued by the competent authority. The subcaste should tally with the Central Govt. list, in the prescribed format.

8 Valid Government-issued identity proof with Photograph.

9 Undertaking by the candidate regarding not having joined or Not Resigned/Left or Not Pursuing any PG course in the last two academic years, i.e. 2025 and 2024 sessions, in the prescribed format.

10 NOC or relieving order / Study Leave.

The notice further instructed that a candidate who does not opt for "Accept and Freeze" may choose the "Upgrade" option. In such cases, the presently allotted seat shall be retained, and the candidate shall be considered for upgradation in Round-2 of the counselling.

If no upgraded seat is allotted in Round-2, the seat allotted in Round-1 shall be re-allotted, and the candidate shall be required to join the same. Such candidates shall not be eligible to participate in the Final (Mop-up) Round of counselling, if conducted.

A candidate who neither opts for "Accept and Freeze" nor "Upgrade" after allotment of a seat in any round of counselling shall not be eligible to participate in any subsequent round(s) of counselling. The amount paid towards the first-year course fee shall be forfeited by NBEMS.

However, the allotment of the seat is purely provisional and subject to fulfilment of the prescribed eligibility criteria, verification of original documents at the time of joining the allotted institute, and final scrutiny by NBEMS for allotment of the final registration number. Candidates are once again advised to carefully ensure that they fulfil all prescribed eligibility criteria.

In the event of any deficiency or ineligibility detected at any stage prior to allotment of the final registration number, the candidature and the provisionally allotted seat shall be liable to cancellation.

Meanwhile, the Round 1 allotment list for the Post Diploma DNB Counselling 2026 Admission Session details the candidates allotted seats through the first round of centralised merit-based online counselling.

The allotment list contains the names of the allotted institutions, specialities, allotted quota, candidate rank, and state for each successful candidate. Based on the published allotment list, a total of 1,507 seats have been allotted across various Post Diploma DNB specialities in the first round of counselling.

The allotment list covers admissions to several Post Diploma DNB specialities. Candidates have been allotted seats in NBEMS-accredited government, private, trust, defence, railway, ESI and corporate hospitals across the country.

For each selected candidate, NBEMS has published the roll Number, NEET-PDCET Merit Rank, allotted Quota, speciality, name of the allotted hospital/institute and state of the allotted institute.
