NEET 2023: BFUHS invites applications for MBBS, BDS admissions, check out registration process, eligibility criteria, counselling details here
Faridkot: Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has begun the online registration for admission to NEET UG (MBBS/BDS) Courses for the academic year 2023-24.
Detailed schedule –
Last date for applying online Admission Application Form through University Website www.bfuhs.ac.in - 13.07.2023 to 20.07.2023
Last date for depositing fee of Rs. 5000 + 18% GST (Rs. 5900/-) & Rs. 2500 + 18% GST (Rs. 2950/-) for SC candidates through online payment gateway - 21.07.2023
Sports Category Candidates will submit printed/hard copies of the online submitted form personally (by hand) in the University along with a Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab, and other supporting self-attested copies of certificates/documents - 21.07.2023 up to 02:00 pm.
Schedule/Detail for Verification of documents and checking eligibility will be as under - 24.07.2023 (10:00 am) –
1. Category Code:16 (PWD)
2. Category Codes- 18(1), 18(2), 19, 20(1), 20(2), 21- Terrorist/Sikh Riot affected
3. Category Code 22 to 30- Wards of Armed Forces Personnel- Defence
4. Category Codes-31 to 33-Wards of Punjab Police Personnel, Punjab Armed Police, Punjab Home Guards and Para-Military Forces
5. Freedom Fighter Category Code-34
6. Jammu & Kashmir Migrants Category Code-35
For verification of Documents, Candidates who applied for Micro-reserved categories mentioned above have to appear at Auditorium Hall, GGS Medical College, Faridkot, as per the above schedule.
Verification for eligibility of Minority Candidates for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses, session 2023 will be conducted at the following venue – 24.07.2023 to 25.07.2023 –
1. Sikh Minority- At SGRD Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Amritsar
2. Christian Minority- At Christian Medical College, Ludhiana
Candidates must report to the respective Institute along with all original certificates/documents, including documents in support of claimed category, as per rules/notification.
For NRI candidates –
The last date for submitting the physical application form for the NRI quota (Application form for Eligibility certificate and admission application form for NRI candidates is separately available on the University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in - 25.07.2023
Display of Provisional Merit List of Candidates - 26.07.2023
Last date for submission of objections in Provisional Merit List (if any) by the NEET UG aspirants. Note: Objections can be submitted only by personal appearance/visit along with relevant documents/records in Admission Branch, BFUHS, Faridkot - 27.07.2023 (upto 02:00 pm)
In case there is any change in Provisional Merit List after considering objections, the same will be displayed through the university website – Up to 29.07.2023
The following documents are required to be uploaded for the online registration -
1. Soft copy of Photograph of the candidate (Maximum size 30 KB)
2. Soft copy of the signatures of the candidate (Maximum Size 30 KB)
Instructions issued –
After completion of filling online admission application form, University will issue a unique Registration ID (i.e. Login ID) and password to the candidate at his/her registered Mobile number through SMS/ email.
Merely submission of the online application form & fee does not confer any right to the candidate to secure a seat for MBBS/BDS course.
Candidate shall submit the online admission application form only once. Applications submitted more than once are liable to be rejected.
After filling out the successful online Admission Application Form, the candidate has to deposit the fee through the online payment gateway of the University.
Admission Application forms applied without fee will not be accepted.
Candidates will have to deposit the fee through the online payment gateway of the University.
Fill category carefully in the online Admission Application Form. The category, once claimed, will not be changed in any case after submitting the form.
Sports Category Candidates will submit printed/hard copies of the online submitted form personally (by hand) in the University along with a Sports Gradation Certificate issued by the Director, Sports, Punjab, and other supporting self-attested copies of certificates/documents.
Credit shall be given only for the sports achievements during classes XI and XII. The admission shall be made based on the inter-se merit of the candidates determined based on gradation (Category A/B/C) issued by the Director of Sports, Punjab. However, for exempted categories under para 11 of this Notification, the competent authority will be the Director, Sports of that State or U.T. from where the candidate has passed his class XI and XII examinations.
Persons with Disability-PWD (Category Code 16)-Shall produce a Disability certificate (as per prospectus Page No. 46) duly issued by the Designated Centre(s) as informed by DGHS, New Delhi, to the Principal at the time of reporting in the provisionally allotted college.
Candidate shall mandatorily upload the requisite documents i.e. DMC of 10+1 & 10+2 in Medical Stream and Permanent Resident certificate on the University website i.e. www.bfuhs.ac.in, by logging into his/her account on the University website.
Candidates who want to apply under NRI quota seats have to obtain a provisional Eligibility/equivalency certificate from BFUHS, Faridkot, and will have to qualify for NEET-UG-2023 Candidates will apply on prescribed proforma available on the website along with the prescribed fee for seats under NRI Quota.
The Provisional selection/allotment of seats in the counseling will be subject to verification of the original documents/checking of eligibility by the Principal of the concerned college. It shall be the sole responsibility of the Principal to authenticate the eligibility of the allocated candidate before admitting the candidate to the allotted course.
Candidates who are not permanent residents of Punjab (except Minority/J&K category candidates) shall be considered during the 2nd Round of Counseling. In case an adequate number of candidates is not available for the BDS course, then candidates who are not eligible for state quota seats may be considered.
Eligibility –
1. The admission to MBBS/BDS Courses shall be open to candidates who have qualified NEET-UG- 2023 and are eligible as per Punjab Govt. notifications and subsequent amendment(s)/corrigendum(s).
2. Merely applying for admission to MBBS/BDS courses on the basis of NEET-UG-2023 will not entitle the Candidates to eligibility. A Merit of a candidate for admission will be determined by the Admission Committee strictly as per rules and regulations laid down in the Punjab Govt. Notification(s) as published in this prospectus and all other such documents as are required with the admission application form.
3. Counseling/Admissions shall be conducted by the Admission Committee constituted by the Punjab Government for this purpose.
4. Age: As specified in NEET-UG 2023 information bulletin.
The procedure of online counseling –
1. Online Registration/Submission of Application Forms
2. Online submission of application fee
3. Document Verification of certain categories
4. Display of Category Wise Provisional Merit List on the University website
5. Filling online submission of course preferences/choices of colleges
6. Provisional allotment of seat
7. Deposition of Tuition Fees through an Online Payment Gateway on the University website
8. Reporting to the allotted college for verification of original document and eligibility followed by Medical Examination
9. If found eligible, the Principal shall allow to join
The provisional merit list -
The University shall display the State Merit (of registered candidates) on the University website as per schedule. After displaying the state merit list of registered candidates, the University shall open the online portal. Online counseling will be held through the website, where online counseling forms will be available as per the schedule specified in Important Dates.
Filling of choices/preferences of course during online counseling -
1. Only registered candidates are eligible for the counseling (s); no candidate shall be allowed to participate in the counseling (online/physical) without registration and deposition of the fee before the last date as prescribed.
2. The candidates should read the eligibility conditions carefully and just exercising the online option of college / appearing in counseling does not entitle him/her to admission Eligibility conditions for admissions are as per Punjab Govt Notification(s) The eligibility shall be determined by the Admission Committee at the time of counseling at the allotted College Those who are not eligible as per Punjab Govt notification will not be considered for admission
3. Counselling for admission to MBBS/BDS, session 2023, will be conducted online, followed by Physical reporting of the candidates to allotted colleges.
4. During online counseling, candidates will fill out the online counseling form. They shall give their preferences, of course, college, category, and quota.
5. The provisional seat will be allocated as per NEET merit and in order of preferences given by the candidate.
6. Candidates of reserved categories (who scored marks equivalent to or more than the minimum cut-off of open merit NEET marks) will also be considered in open merit if the candidate of the reserve category is eligible in open merit, then the seat of open merit will be allocated.
7. After the provisional allocation of seats, candidates can download the provisional allocation letter from the University website after logging into their account and will report to the respective college along with all original documents for the checking of documents and their eligibility If found eligible, he/she has to deposit the tuition fee through online payment gateway Issuing of provisional selection slip alone does not confer any right to claim the allocation of seat in respective college as their provisional selection is subject to verification of documents and checking of eligibility as per guidelines of Punjab Govt Notification enshrined in the Prospectus.
8. If any candidate does not follow the said process, his/her allocated seat will be canceled automatically without any intimation, and his/her seat shall be declared as vacant for the subsequent round of counseling.
9. If any candidate is not willing to change/upgrade the seat/college in 2nd round of counseling, he/she is not required to participate in the 2nd round of counseling In case the candidate wishes/intends to upgrade/change his/her seat he/she will have to participate in the 2nd round of counseling and give his/her preferences afresh for the course/college/category/quota.
10. In case any candidate wants to quit the course/seat, he/she will have to submit the application to the respective college regarding his/her surrender of the seat well in advance before the start of 2nd round of counseling, otherwise, rules of 2nd round will apply, and penalty will be imposed as per Gazette Notification No MCI-34(41)/2018-Med /109835 dated 18/05/2018 (available at page no 67 to 69)
11. In case the candidate's seat is upgraded/changed in the 2nd round of counseling and he/she has already deposited the tuition fee, he/she is not required to deposit the fee again; only the difference in fee, if any, shall need to be deposited.

During/After 2nd counseling, the following orders dated 16.12.2021 passed by the Hon’ble Supreme Court in SLP (C) No. 10487 of 2021 titled Nihila P.P Vs MCC & Ors will be applicable -
1. Candidates who have joined the allotted seat in Round 2 and further rounds of counseling will not be allowed to resign and will also be ineligible to take part in further rounds of any type of counseling.
2. Candidates who have not joined the allotted seat in Round 2 will be eligible for further rounds of counseling subject to forfeiture of the security deposit and fresh registration in only the mop-up round.
3. The provisions with regard to the security deposit, the option of free exit, and eligibility for participation will be as per the Gazette Notification No.MCI- 34(41)/2018-Med./109835 dated 18/05/2018.
The provisional allotment of seats –
The Provisional seat will be allotted to the candidate as per the merit list and institutional preferences submitted by him/her in the online counseling form. Allocation of seats is provisional, subject to verification of original documents/checking of eligibility by the Principal of the concerned Colleges. After the provisional allocation of seats, the candidate shall deposit the tuition fee through an online payment gateway and report to the allocated college for verification of documents and checking of eligibility. It is the sole responsibility of the Principal to authenticate the eligibility of the provisionally allocated candidate before their joining/admission.
Verification of documents after provisional allotment of the seat -
The provisional selected candidates who desire to join the provisionally allotted seat shall have to report to the Principal of the concerned college and be required to produce all of their original documents/credentials for verification. It is the sole responsibility of the Principal to authenticate the eligibility of the provisionally allocated candidate before their joining/admission. If the selected candidate is found eligible as per instructions mentioned in Punjab Govt. Notification no. 5/5/2021/-5HB-III/446 dated 10.03.2023, then he/she will be allowed to submit his/her joining report after a medical checkup.
2. After the verification of the documents and checking of eligibility, the candidate can pay the online fee after generating an allotment letter both at his/her own level or college level.
