NEET 2023: Check out Top 10 Medical Colleges Across Mumbai For MBBS Admissions this year
Mumbai: MBBS admissions are based on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) conducted in that academic year. This year NEET-UG was conducted at different centres located in 499 Cities throughout the country, including 14 cities outside India, on 07 May 2023 from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time).
NTA has conducted it since 2019 for admission to undergraduate medical education, with the approval of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare and MHRD. This test is conducted once a year across India and abroad.
The seats are allotted to the candidates for the MBBS course based on the counselling process, choices filled, and number of seats available. Those who qualify in NEET UG are only allowed for the counselling process.
Maha CET Cell is the counselling authority that conducts the counselling and admission process for MBBS admissions in Maharashtra. The counselling process is usually carried out in 4 rounds (round 1, round 2, mop-up, and spot round). Spot round is conducted only if seats remain vacant after the first 3 rounds. Each round of counselling is a separate round, and the rules of each round are different.
