NEET 2024 analysis: Difficulty level 'moderate'
New Delhi- The National Testing Agency (NTA) successfully conducted the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2024 exam yesterday i.e. 5th May 2024 from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM. The exam witnessed nearly 23.3 lakh candidates out of a record 24 lakh registered candidates appearing for the test at various centres located in 557 cities across the country, including 14 cities outside India. The examination was conducted in pen and paper mode. The result of NEET UG 2024 will be declared on June 14 2024.
The NEET UG 2024 exam paper consisted of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology) where there were 200 questions out of which 180 had to be answered for a total of 720 marks. Each question was of four marks of which four marks would be awarded for each correct answer and one mark would be deducted for each wrong answer.
According to the TOI media news report, some students students described the NEET 2024 exam as moderate to difficult due to a few “indirect questions.” Students said that the questions were mostly based on the NCERT syllabus but a few were indirect. Out of the three sections, students found Physics to be easy to moderate while Chemistry was moderate to slightly tough. Aspirants found the Biology section, including zoology and botany section, easy.
Over 25,000 Indore medical aspirants took the smooth NEET 2024 exam. Students found the paper easy. Physics was moderate, and Chemistry was praised by many. Strict guidelines were followed during the exam, adds the daily.
Nitin Viijay, Founder & CEO of Motion Education informed HT that the overall difficulty level of the exam was easy to moderate. While physics and Chemistry were a bit lengthy and easy to moderate compared to last year's NEET exam, Biology was also moderate. "Physics was easy to moderate but a bit lengthy. There were more questions from NCERT, especially class 11. Apart from this, there were questions about Thermodynamics and optics. The chemistry paper was easier than last year's NEET exam. Physical chemistry was the toughest, followed by organic and inorganic chemistry, and questions from thermodynamics, kinetics, and periodic table were included in the exam. Biology was the easy to moderate exam, and most of the questions were asked from NCERT curriculum only," he said.
