NEET 2024 Counselling expected To Begin Today, check list of required documents
New Delhi- The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to start the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 exam counselling from today i.e. 24th July 2024.
The anticipation for starting of NEET-UG 2024 exam counselling came after a Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Mishra on July 23, 2024, dismissed the petitions seeking the re-conduct of the NEET UG 2024 exam due to paper leak allegations.
The NEET-UG 2024 exam counselling process conducted by MCC consists of three main rounds followed by a stray vacancy round of All India Quota (AIQ) online counselling. MCC will make the allotment based on the merit and preferences of the candidates, which will commence only after receipt of the list, data or information of successful candidates from NTA.
The candidates participating in the NEET-UG 2024 exam counselling need to submit the following documents during registration-
DOCUMENTS
1 Cast certificate if applicable
2 NEET 2024 Result/Rank Letter issued by NTA.
3 Hall Ticket issued by NTA.
4 Date of Birth Certificate.
5 Class 10th Certificate.
6 Class 10+2 Certificate.
7 Class 10+2 Marksheet.
8 Passport-size Photographs (same as affixed on the application form).
9 Identity Proof (Aadhar/PAN/Driving Licence/Passport)
According to the NEET UG 2024 Information Bulletin, the Reservation Policy of the Central Government in All India Quota seats (Govt./Govt. aided/National Institutes/Central Universities) counselling is as follows:
1 SC- 15%.
2 ST- 7.5%.
3 PwBD- 5% Horizontal Reservation.
4 OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)- 27% Only in National Institutes/Central Universities.
5 EWS- 10% Only in National Institutes/Central Universities (who satisfy the conditions given in the OM No. 20013/01/2018-BC-II dated 17 January 2019, issued by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment).
Furthermore, An All India Merit List of the qualified candidates shall be prepared based on All India Rank (AIR) in the Merit List of the NEET (UG) - 2024 and candidates shall be admitted to Undergraduate Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani and Homeopathy Course (ASU & H Courses) from the said list only, with existing reservation policy, the information bulleting stated.
The complete schedule of the NEET-UG 2024 exam counselling is still awaited. Once the process begins, candidates need to log in to the official MCC website with their credentials to register and make their selection.
