NEET 2025: CENTAC extends last date for round 2 preferences, round 1 seat withdrawal

Puducherry: The Centralised Admission Committee has extended the deadline for submission of course preferences for Round 2 NEET counselling and withdrawal of Round 1 admitted seats till September 16 2025.
The move follows the Medical Counselling Committee’s (MCC) notice dated September 9, 2025, which extended the national counselling schedule.
In this regard, CENTAC released a notice informing about the extension of the last date for Round 2 submission of course preferences, and withdrawal of Round 1 admitted seats for UG NEET based medical courses.
"As per the MCC Notice published on 09.09.2025 wherein the Round 2 of UG Counselling has been extended, the last date for submission of willingness and course preferences for counseling to UG NEET ROUND 2 through CENTAC is also is extended till 16.09.2025, 5.00 p.m," the notice read.
On Resignation / Withdrawal of the ROUND 1 Admitted Seat, the notice said, "Candidates who have joined their CENTAC allotted seat in ROUND 1 and who are now desirous of Resigning / Withdrawing the admitted seat without Forfeiture Fee, may submit their Resignation Request Letter (Refer Annexure – 19 in the UG NEET Information Brochure) through the Candidate’s Login Dashboard on or before 16.09.2025, 5.00 pm."

Medical Dialogues earlier reported thata total of 197 seats have been added to the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) Round 2 Counselling seat matrix for the academic year 2025. This was informed by an official notice by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
As per the notice, it was informed that the MCC of DGHS received information from 2 Institutes, namely ESIC Medical College, Hyderabad and Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Belagavi, to add a total of 197 seats in the seat matrix of Round 2 of UG Counselling 2025.
Meanwhile, through another official notice, MCC informed the candidates that it is in the process of adding newly accredited seats sent by NMC in the seat matrix of Round-2 of UG Counselling 2025. In addition, the scrutiny of NRI documents is in progress. Hence, the competent authority has decided to extend the schedule of Round-2 of UG Counselling 2025. The Revised Schedule of Round-2 of UG Counselling 2025 will be uploaded shortly on the MCC website.
