NEET 2025 Counselling stray round: MCC issues notice on NRI nationality conversion

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued a notice for candidates applying under the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) quota in the Stray Vacancy Round of the NEET UG Counselling for the academic year 2025.
According to the notice, candidates claiming NRI status must send all relevant documents via email till 2:00 PM on November 11, 2025. The MCC has clarified that candidates must send documents afresh for the Stray Vacancy Round, even if they had applied for NRI status in previous rounds. Submissions made before or after the specified time window will not be considered, and candidates must ensure all documents are sent in a single email only.
However, in continuation of the MCC’s earlier notices and as per the revised guidelines of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), MCC has released the updated list of mandatory documents required for candidates seeking NRI eligibility.
MANDATORY DOCUMENTS FOR NRI ELIGIBILITY
1 NEET-UG Admit Card and Score Card
2 Proof of NRI status of parent or relative
Valid Passport.
ii Visa / Residence Permit / Work Permit.
iii Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / PIO Card (if applicable).
iv NRI Certificate issued by the Embassy or Indian Consulate.
Certificate of Relationship between the NRI relative and the candidate issued by the competent Revenue Authority through a Family Tree.
Notarised Affidavit from the NRI relative confirming full sponsorship of course fees and living expenses, supported by the NRE Bank Account Passbook
10th and 12th Mark Sheets and Passing Certificates
Birth Certificate
Passport of Candidate or Sponsor (optional).
Along with this, candidates applying for NRI conversion are required to submit a self-declaration confirming their NEET-UG qualification and acknowledging that once allotted NRI seats, they will be treated as NRI for all remaining rounds.
