NEET 2025: MCC allows conversion of 188 candidates to NRI category

New Delhi- Through a notice, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a list allowing conversion of 188 candidates from Indian to NRI status for NEET 2025 counselling.
Earlier, the MCC informed that the candidates who have applied for Embassy Certificate/ NRI Certificate by Missions/ Posts abroad as per MEA press release and have got Embassy certificate endorsed or stamped by the embassy will be considered for seats reserved for NRIs.
Therefore, such candidates were asked to send certain scanned documents to MCC via email till 03 August 2025 so that they can choose NRI seats on the MCC portal. Below are the list of documents-
1 The National Eligibility and Entrance (NEET) Score Card of candidates issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
2 Sworn Affidavit endorsed by the concerned embassy as per MEA approved format showing that the Bonafide Guardian will bear the entire course fee of the candidate. (Certificate from the Consulate issued within the last 06 months).
3 Relationship & Family Tree (Notarized).
4 Self-Attested Declaration.
The eligibility of candidates for seats reserved for NRI is ‘Provisional’ based on the documents submitted by the candidates which will be verified by the allotted college authorities at the time of reporting and the Embassy Certificate will be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs/ respective High Commissions for verification. If found ‘FAKE’ at any point of time, the Provisional Allotment of the candidate will be cancelled and action will be initiated by the competent authority against the candidate and the allotted college.
Those candidates who have been found Eligible so far need not send their documents again. Candidates are advised to send all documents enclosed in single mail only, within stipulated time. On this, MCC has also released the list of NRI for the Undergraduate (UG) Round 1 for the academic year 2025-26.
As per the list, a total of 188 candidates who have been found Eligible need not send their documents. The list contains details such as roll no and name of the candidates. The 188 candidates have been converted provisionally from Indian to NRI for the purpose of UG counselling 2025-26 on the basis of scrutiny of documents sent by them to MCC of DGHS. However, the candidates have to produce the same original documents at the time of Reporting in case an NRI seat is allotted to them, failing which their admission is liable to get cancelled.
