NEET 2025 Special stray round counselling: MCC tells state counselling authorities to weed out AIQ allotted candidates

New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has issued an urgent directive to state counselling authorities and candidates regarding the Special Stray Vacancy Round of the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) Counselling for the academic year 2025.
According to the official notice, as per the directions of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in Contempt Petition© No. 289 of 2022 in W.P No. 223 of 2022, Shubhankar Patnaik Vs. K. Ramesh Reddy & Ors. It is informed that the final result of the Special Stray Round of UG Counselling 2025, conducted by MCC, has already been published and there is no provision for resignation in this round.
Hence, all state counselling authorities are requested to weed out the allotted candidates of AIQ before seat processing for the Special Stray Round of state counselling so that candidates holding a seat in AIQ are not allotted any seat through state counselling. State counselling authorities can download the list of allotted candidates from the data sharing portal of MCC.
This step is aimed at ensuring that candidates holding an AIQ seat are not allotted another seat through state counselling, thereby preventing dual admissions and maintaining the integrity of the counselling process.
