NEET 2026: AIIMS New Delhi issues revised reporting guidelines for MBBS admissions

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has issued revised detailed instructions for candidates who will be allotted MBBS seats at the institute through the first round of the NEET UG counselling 2026 conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

According to the circular issued by the Academic Section of AIIMS, New Delhi, to all students, all allotted candidates have been advised to read the revised instructions provided by MCC regarding the process of reporting and taking admission on the MCC website.

As per the schedule of the MCC, the candidates are now required to report at the Academic Section, Undergraduate Cell, AIIMS, New Delhi, to complete the process of Ádmission from 22 to 31 August 2026. The reporting process will be conducted from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM on regular working days. While 23 August 2026 (Sunday) will be a working day, the admission procedure will remain closed on 26 and 30 August 2026 (being Holiday/Sunday).

After completion of the reporting process, newly admitted MBBS students will have to appear for the medical examination on 01 September, 2026. Hostel accommodation and payment of hostel fees will also begin on 01 September, 2026. Candidates have been asked to report at 8:45 AM, while the medical examination will be conducted at the Conference Hall.

The General Orientation Programme for the new MBBS batch will be conducted on 02 September, 2026. Following the general orientation, AIIMS will conduct the CREST Orientation Programme from 03 to 08 September 2026. AIIMS has scheduled the start of regular MBBS classes from 09 September, 2026.

Candidates are advised to regularly check the MCC website for any updates or revisions to the counselling schedule. In case of any revision, the reporting period of AIIMS, New Delhi shall be revised accordingly. Then candidates need to report strictly as per the revised guidelines of AIIMS, New Delhi. Candidates are advised to keep checking their emails and the MCC & AIIMS Exam section official website for regular updates.

SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIES OF UNDERGRADUATE MBBS COUNSELLING 2026 AT AIIMS, NEW DELHI

The schedule is only for the candidates who will be allotted AIIMS, New Delhi as per the result of the 1st Round of MBBS seat allocation by the MCC for NEET-UG 2026. The results of the first round of counselling for NEET-UG 2026 are to be announced by the MCC on 21 August, 2026. The following activities are required to be completed by candidates-

Hostel Accommodation and Submission of Hostel Fees

01 September, 2026

At the Conference Hall.

On declaration of Medical Fitness, the candidate has to deposit the requisite fee for admission & hostel accommodation. Hostel accommodation will be done immediately after submission of fee.

General Orientation Programme

02 September, 2026

A General Orientation Programme with the Director & Dean (Academics), AIIMS, along with other Faculty members, will be arranged for 2026-batch MBBS students in the Conference Hall.

CREST Orientation Programme

From 03 to 08 September, 2026.

An orientation Programme has been arranged for 2026-batch MBBS students for their welfare at the Conference Hall/CMETi, which is compulsory for all to attend.

The regular classes will start from 09 September, 2026.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE BROUGHT ON THE DAY OF REPORTING

1 EXAM AND COUNSELLING RELATED

i Application Form/Confirmation Page of NEET.

2 NEET/NTA Scorecard - original print.

3 NTA Admit Card - original print.

4 Provisional Seat Allotment Letter from MCC.

5 Five passport-size photographs.

6 Identity Proof (Aadhar Card/ Election Card/Passport or any photo identity proof issued by the Government of India).

2 ELIGIBILITY AND CATEGORY RELATED

1 Certificate from the Board from which he/she passed the 10th/High School/Higher Secondary Examination, showing his/her date of birth.

2 Certificate & Mark sheet from the Board from which he/she passed the 10+2 or equivalent Examination showing that he/she has secured 60% or more marks (50% in case of SC/ST Candidates & 45% for persons with Benchmark Disability) in aggregate in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

3 Migration Certificate from the University/Board last attended by him/her.

4 Passport, Visa/OCI/Citizenship Proof for Foreign National Candidates.

3 APPLICABLE ONLY TO CANDIDATES BELONGING TO SCHEDULE CASTE/TRIBE/OBC/EWS/ OPH CATEGORY

1 SC/ST Certificate issued by the competent authority. Community should be clearly mentioned in the certificate.

b OBC-NCL Certificate issued by the competent authority. The sub-caste should tally with the central list of OBC. OBC candidates should not belong to the creamy layer.OBC-NCL certificate must be in the prescribed format. (The OBC-NCL certificates issued from 01 April 2025 (inclusive) to the start of reporting of Round-1 of MBBS counselling as notified by (MCC) will be considered valid for admission for NEET (UG) 2026. Candidates should bring both OBC & NCL certificates for reporting.

c EWS Certificate issued by the competent authority. The EWS certificates issued from 01 April 2025 (inclusive) to the start of reporting of Round 1 of MBBS counselling as notified by MCC will be considered valid for admission for NEET (UG) 2026.

d A Disability Certificate issued by the prescribed authority showing that he/she belongs to the Persons with Benchmark Disability Category, along with the medical assessment from the designated medical assessment centres/boards by the MCC, if applicable.

It is to be noted that candidates must bring two sets of copies of the above-mentioned documents while reporting for document submission. Additionally, for candidates who join the MBBS course at AIIMS, New Delhi, his/her Original certificates will be retained, and the same will not be returned to the candidate before completion of the course.
