New Delhi: Amid the ongoing controversy regarding the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 exam results, a video of a candidate claiming that she did not receive her results and her OMR sheet was torn went viral on social media platforms.

However, the National Testing Agency (NTA) soon issued a statement clarifying that no torn OMR Answer Sheet was sent via official NTA ID and the Answer Sheet is intact and the Scores are accurate as per official records. Following this, the student released another video and defended her earlier claim.

What did the Student Claim?

The controversy erupted when a video of the NEET candidate Ms. Patel became viral on the internet. She was seen in the video claiming that she did not receive her NEET UG 2024 results, announced on June 08 and instead received an email from the NTA indicating that her results could not be displayed.

Allegedly, when the candidate along with her parents responded to the email and requested to show the OMR sheet, she received images of torn sheets. Ms. Patel claimed that she expected to score 715 in the exam.

As per the latest media report by NDTV, she has already filed a plea in the Lucknow High Court over the discrepancy.

"I appeared in NEET 2024 exam and a big scam happened with me," she said in the video. Showing her admit card, the candidate claimed that "On the day when NEET results were published- on 4th June, my result was not opening. It was showing on screen repeatedly "your result is not generated". I thought that 23 lakh student appeared in the exam so it might be possible that there was traffic on the website and the result was not generated. However, after one hour, I received an email from NTA stating that 'your result cannot be generated' ...because they received my OMR torn or damaged."

"After hearing this, me and my family went into shock. But my mummy supported me a lot and did not let me slip into depression. After seeing so much, any student can lose stability. They can't understand what to do. Same thing happened with me. She took care of me and we thought of taking immediate action. My maternal uncle is a lawyer in the High Court. During night, we went to his house and we sent a reply email to NTA and filed a FAX saying that even if a candidate's OMR is torn, the torn OMR should be shown. This was registered successfully and within 24 hours I received my OMR, which was in completely torn condition."

She showed in the video the pictures of the torn OMR and claimed that when she manually checked the answers she got to know that she obtained 715 marks in the exam and claimed that when she checked with NTA answer key, then also her scores showed 715.

NTA Clarification:

However, following the viral video, NTA issued a statement and clarified that no such email was sent from NTA's end with images of torn OMR Answer Sheet. NTA stated, "Regarding the viral video featuring Ms. Ayushi Patel, claiming discrepancies in NEET (UG) 2024 scoring and receiving of the torn OMR Answer Sheet, NTA clarifies that no torn OMR Answer Sheet was sent via an official NTA ID. OMR Answer Sheet is intact and Scores are accurate as per official records. Candidate should download Scorecards only from the website https://exams.nta.ac.in/NEET."

Ms Patel Defends Her Claim:

Following the NTA's clarification, several people on the internet expressed their doubts regarding the earlier claims by Ms. Patel. However, she released another video and defended her earlier claim. She alleged if her result is being generated using a different number then it was a fault on the part of NTA.
