NEET candidates who indulge in Unfair Means Practice during exam liable for criminal action, cancellation of result: NTA

NEET candidates who indulge in Unfair Means Practice during exam liable for criminal action, cancellation of result: NTA

Delhi: NEET UG 2023 will be conducted for 1872341 candidates at different centers in 499 Cities throughout the country, including 14 cities outside India, on 07 May 2023 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time). The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued details related to unfair means practices and breach of examination rules.

Unfair means practice is an activity that allows a candidate to gain an unfair advantage over other candidates. NTA does not encourage any unfair means of practice during the examination. During, before, or after the examination, if the candidate indulges in any of the below or similar practices, they will be deemed to have used unfair practices and booked under unfair means (UFM) case. The candidate would be debarred for 3 years in the future and liable for criminal action and /or any other action as deemed fit.

Further, the result of the candidates who indulge in unfair means practices will be canceled and will not be declared. Similarly, the result of those candidates who appear from the center other than the one allotted to them, written on the Test booklet/OMR Sheet of other candidates or allow other candidates to write on their Test Booklet/OMR Sheet will be canceled (and will not be declared).

The unfair means practice includes, but is not limited to –

1. Possess any item or article that has been prohibited or can be used for unfair practices, including any stationery item, communication device, accessories, eatables, ornaments, or any other material or information relevant or irrelevant to the examination in the paper concerned.

2. Using someone to write the examination (impersonation) or preparing material for copying.

3. Breaching examination rules or any direction issued by NTA in connection with the conduct of the NEET UG 2023 examination from time to time.

4. Assisting other candidates to engage in malpractices, giving or receiving assistance directly or indirectly, or attempting to do so.

5. Writing questions or answers on any material other than the answer sheet given by the Centre Superintendent for writing answers.

6. Tearing of the Answer Sheet, any page of the test booklet, etc.

7. Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the examination time in the Examination Centre.

8. Contacting or communicating or trying to do so with any person, other than the Examination Staff, during the examination time in the Examination Centre.

9. Taking away the Admit Card from the examination hall/room.

10. Smuggling out of Question Paper or its part or smuggling out answer sheet or part thereof.

11. Threatening any of the officials connected with the conduct of the examination or threatening any of the candidates.

12. Using or attempting to use any other undesirable method or means concerning the examination.

13. Manipulation and fabrication of online documents, viz. admit card, rank letter, self-declaration, etc

14. Forceful entry/exit in/from Examination Centre/Hall.

15. Use or attempted use of any electronic device after entering the Examination Centre.

16. Affixing/uploading wrong/morphed photographs on the application form/admit card/proforma.

17. Erasing or obliterating any information printed on the OMR Answer Sheet.

18. Providing incorrect information and/or overwriting of the Roll No./ Test Booklet No. / own Name of the Candidate / Father’s Name / Mother’s Name / Signature, on the OMR Answer Sheet.

19. Making fake claims by manipulating the responses in the OMR sheet one tampering with it in any way whatsoever, uploaded on the website for the challenge before or after the declaration of the result

20. Creating obstacles in the smooth and fair conduct of the examination.

21. Any other malpractices declared as unfair means by the NTA.
