NEET Counselling 2026: Puducherry adds 3 candidates for JIPMER Internal Domicile quota

Puducherry: Through a recent notice issued by the MCC, it is informed that the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, has issued an addendum to the merit list for the NEET UG counselling for the academic year 2026. The authority has added three more candidates to the list of Puducherry domicile students eligible to register for the JIPMER Puducherry Internal Domicile Quota through MCC counselling for the 2026-27 academic year.
The communication, issued in this regard, was sent by the Office of the Nodal Officer (Medical Education) to the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, Government of India.
According to the notice, the newly listed candidates are being treated as Puducherry domicile candidates for registration on the MCC website for admission to MBBS seats under the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, internal domicile quota.
The development follows the release of the NEET UG merit list by the Puducherry Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services on July 31, 2026.
As per the list, 1 candidate has now been included from the General category with 561 NEET UG Marks and 1 each from the OBC-NCL (Central List) category with 519 and 587 marks.
"In pursuance to the NEET UG Merit List released by the Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Puducherry on 31.07.2026, as on date, the following are the list of students whose names are missing in the list provided by the NTA after filtering out the PERMANENT STATE as Puducherry. These names are informed to be included in the NTA database, so as to enable them to register and appear for All India MCC Counselling for MBBS, under JIPMER Puducherry Domicile Internal Quota course for the year 2026-27," the notice added.
The addendum is intended to ensure that eligible Puducherry domicile candidates whose names were not reflected earlier can participate in the counselling process for the 2026-27 academic session.
Candidates concerned should keep track of the MCC counselling portal and complete registration and subsequent admission formalities within the prescribed timeline.
