MCC updates JIPMER internal quota list after Puducherry adds 2 NEET candidates
New Delhi: Through a recent notice, the MCC has informed about the addendum issued by the Puducherry government regarding the JIPMER internal quota MBBS admissions.
The Directorate of Health and Family Welfare Services, Government of Puducherry, which has issued an addendum to the National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Undergraduate (NEET UG) merit list for the academic year 2026 for candidates seeking admission under the JIPMER Puducherry domicile internal quota.
The addendum includes the names of two candidates who were missing from the list provided by the National Testing Agency (NTA), despite their permanent state being recorded as Puducherry.
According to the communication, the original NEET UG merit list was released by the Puducherry health directorate on July 31, 2026. During subsequent scrutiny, it was found that two eligible candidates were not included in the NTA-provided list after filtering candidates whose permanent state was Puducherry.
Therefore, the Directorate requested that these names be included in the NTA database so that the candidates can register and participate in the All India MCC counselling for MBBS admission under the JIPMER Puducherry domicile internal quota for the 2026-27 academic year.
The addendum formally recognises these candidates for inclusion in the domicile list used for JIPMER internal quota counselling.
The notification also mentions one candidate's category change.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has issued a notice for Puducherry domicile candidates seeking admission under the internal quota of JIPMER Puducherry and JIPMER Karaikal through the NEET UG Counselling for the academic year 2026-27.
Through the notice, MCC has clarified that only candidates whose names appear in the official domicile list forwarded by the Puducherry health authorities should register for the internal quota seats. The MCC has begun the registration process for the NEET UG Counselling 2026.
