NEET PG 2025 counselling: What DNB aspirants need to know!

According to the Information Bulletin, MCC will conduct the counselling for DNB courses, which are domicile-free and All India in character, in line with the Supreme Court judgment dated 26 May 2020 in W.P. of 2020 (Diary No. 11011 of 2020, Alapati Jyotsana & Ors. v/s UoI & Ors).
MCC announced that four rounds of online counselling, i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and Stray Vacancy Round, will be held for DNB courses, similar to other postgraduate medical programmes. All eligible candidates who have qualified NEET PG 2025 conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) will be able to participate in the process.
After allotment of seats by MCC of DGHS, the admission fee is collected by NBE Authorities. Hence for any query refer to NBE, MCC has no role in the same, hence MCC will not entertain any requests for refund, the MCC stated.
The Counselling for In-service seats of DNB is not conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW.
RESERVATION POLICY
The counselling will follow the Central Government reservation policy for seats contributed by Government institutions under the DNB programme:
1 There will be no reservation in Private DNB Colleges/Institutes.
2 Reservation of seats under PWD Category is 5% in AIQ and the 21 Benchmark Disabilities as envisaged under the regulations of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act 2016 and as per NMC norms. For the range of disabilities included, please see Annexure- ‘1’.
3 Candidates who want to avail of 5% PwD reservation in PG seats of the Govt. / Central medical institutions should obtain Disability certificate as per 21 Benchmark Disabilities given under the RPWD Act 2016, from the designated disability centres as per the list enclosed as Annexure- 2. The certificate issued by any other hospital/ board will not be accepted.
4 The reservation policy for the Govt institutes /Colleges' seats contributed by DNB of the Central Government is as follows-
i S.C.- 15%.
ii S.T.- 7.5%.
iii O.B.C.- (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list- 27%.
iv EWS- as per Central Government norms- 10%.
v PwD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms- 5%.
ELIGIBILITY
Candidate must have qualified NEET-PG.
ROSTER
The roster for Govt. DNB Institutes/colleges shall be applied by the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW.
