NEET PG Counselling 2025: NBE issues advisory for candidates, accredited hospitals

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released two important advisories, one for candidates allotted NBEMS seats through the NEET PG All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling for the academic year 2025 and another for NBE-accredited hospitals participating in the admission process conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).
According to the notice issued by the NBEMS in this regard, the online Centralised Merit-Based Counselling for the AIQ seats for the 2025 session has been notified by the MCC, DGHS (MoHFW). Therefore, all the NBEMS-accredited hospitals and the candidates are advised to carefully go through the counselling schedule, information bulletin, counselling scheme, and other notices published by MCC and comply accordingly.
FOR CANDIDATES- KEY INSTRUCTIONS ON JOINING NBEMS SEATS
Advisory & Instructions to the candidates for Reporting/Joining of NBEMS Seats allotted through NEET PG AIQ 2025 Counseling conducted by MCC
Candidates allotted NBEMS seats must confirm with their allotted hospital that their reporting/joining status has been updated on the IntraMCC portal within the prescribed timeline by the concerned hospital. Failure of the hospital to update the reporting/joining status will result in the seat being treated as vacant and carried forward to the next round.
PAYMENT OF COURSE FEE
Candidates allotted NBEMS seats are required to pay the 1st-year annual course fee to NBEMS through a designated portal within the joining/reporting window specified in the MCC schedule. Payment should be made only through the designated payment gateway using a Debit Card, a Credit Card, or Net Banking for timely reconciliation. NEFT payments may take 2–3 working days to reconcile.
REPORTING/JOINING PROCESS
After successful fee payment, candidates must join/report to the allotted hospital within the prescribed timeline, along with all the original documents for verification by the concerned hospital. They will also undergo a medical examination by the Medical Board of the hospital. Only those found fit will be permitted to join.
START DATE OF NBEMS TRAINING
Candidates must report/join their NBEMS training within the reporting/joining window of the respective counselling round as published by MCC. No extension in the date of reporting/joining shall be permitted. For candidates who get upgraded, the training period will be considered from the date of reporting/joining the upgraded seat. If the seat is not upgraded, the training will be counted from the date of the start of PG training, i.e. the candidate starts his/her duties as a resident doctor.
INSERVICE DOCTORS
Candidates who are employed with the central govt./state govt./ railways/PSU/ESI or any other govt. organisation should ensure that they have a no-objection certificate, including study leave from their parent organisation, at the time of joining the NBEMS course.
ONLINE PORTAL FOR JOINING & REGISTRATION (OPJR)
The NBEMS OPJR portal will be activated after completion of all rounds of NEET PG 2025 counselling. A separate detailed notice will be published in due course. This portal is meant for the candidates and the hospitals to submit their joining status and documents to NBEMS after all rounds of the counselling are over.
FOR NBEMS-ACCREDITED HOSPITALS: VERIFICATION AND REPORTING GUIDELINES
Advisory & Instructions for Hospitals to Update Reporting/Joining Status of Candidates Allotted NBEMS Seats through NEET PG AIQ 2025 Counselling Conducted by MCC
All NBEM-accredited hospitals are required to verify the prescribed original documents at the time of joining/reporting. Hospitals must ensure the fulfilment of the eligibility criteria by the candidate for admission to the allotted seat, as detailed in the information bulletin. The medical examination of the candidate shall be conducted by the Medical Board of the concerned NBEMS-accredited hospitals. Only those candidates found medically fit shall be allowed to report/join the course.
VERIFICATION OF ANNUAL COURSE FEE
It is mandatory for candidates reporting/joining NBEMS seats to pay the 1st-year annual course fee to NBEMS through the dedicated portal of NBEMS. The hospitals must verify the fee receipt produced by the candidate before permitting the reporting/joining of the candidate. In case of non-submission of the fee, the allotted seat shall be treated as vacant and carried forward to the next round of counselling. The reporting/joining status must be updated accordingly on the Intra-MCC portal. The hospitals may note that the timelines prescribed by MCC have to be strictly adhered to. Please do not communicate with NBEMS for relaxation in the prescribed timelines.
INTRA-MCC PORTAL
All NBEMS-accredited hospitals must update the reporting/joining status of candidates on the Intra-MCC portal within the stipulated time prescribed by MCC. Failure to do so will result in the seat being carried forward to the next round. Institutes must also review their seat positions before each round to avoid excess allotment.
The NBEMS Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) shall remain INACTIVE for hospitals until all rounds of counselling are concluded. This portal is meant for the candidates and the hospitals to submit their joining status and documents to NBEMS after all rounds of the counselling are over. Hospitals will gain access to OPJR only after completion of all rounds. The final reporting/joining intimation of candidates to NBEMS shall be furnished through the OPJR after completion of all rounds of counselling.
