New Delhi: With only two days left for the exam, a group of medical aspirants is planning to approach the Bombay High Court seeking postponement of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination.

Taking to Twitter, a user mentioned that already five petitioners have agreed to sign the plea and once they get the confirmation from the lawyer, they will move forward with the petition.

"Friends 5 petitioner are ready to sign the petition we are just waiting for the @AliKaashifKhan sir for the reply once hey reply we will file the petition in the Bombay High school let's hope for the best #postponeNEETUG2023," read the Tweet.

Apart from this, some of the medical aspirants have also moved an online petition seeking postponement of the UG medical entrance examination, scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2023. More than 7000 aspirants have already signed the petition on change.org.

They have referred to several reasons for which the exam should be postponed. These reasons include clash of the NEET UG schedule with board exam, late city intimation resulting in travelling difficulties for the aspirants etc. Further, the aspirants have pointed out that the academic session for 2023-2024 will not start before December. So, there should not be any hurry to conduct the exam in May.

"We understand that govt is trying to bring back the pre pandemic academic schedule but postponing neet to just 15 days will not do any harm in our opinion.," the aspirants mentioned in the online petition.

"Not everyone can afford a drop year," the students further added in the plea.

This year NEET UG will be conducted for 1872341 candidates at different centers located in 499 Cities throughout the country including 14 cities outside India on 07 May 2023 (Sunday) from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (Indian Standard Time). Already National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card for the exam.

Even though the exam is scheduled to be conducted only a few days later, the aspirants are still demanding a postponement of the exam. Taking to Twitter, one aspirant wrote, "Cutting short 2 whole months of preperation is unfair to our batch Academic calender restoration post covid shouldn't affect a single batch so harshly Postpone neet for a month."

Urging the Prime Minister of India to defer the exam, another aspirant wrote on Twitter, "@PMOIndia dear prime Minister Boards exams ke liye 1 year di jaati hn jabke 45 chapters hain . NEET exam me 7month diye 98 chapter hain.7 May ko Test hona hain. JUNE TAK postpone krwa dijiye . aap jrur dhayan doge mujhe ummeed hain."

Initiating an online poll, a Twitter handle called Postpone NEET/JEE 2023 mentioned, "NTA releases examination calendar for academic year 2023-24. So, the Date of #NEET UG 2023 is on the 7th May. Last year it was on 17th July!" and asked the aspirants if it is fair or unfair.

"Please postpone the neet its very difficult to cover all chpter please understand our prblm.. we only want to postpone for 1 month ...try to understand," wrote an aspirant.

In another Tweet, a user pointed out that even the droppers did not get enough time to prepare for the exam. "#NEETUG2023POSTPONE This should be done even we droppers didn't get enough time to prepare for syllabus of 11th and 12th classes... #PMOIndia please look into our situation. Here are the reasons , according to the neet aspirants why NEET UG 2023 should be postpone," mentioned the Tweet.
