Postpone NEET 2023: Aspirants plan to approach Bombay HC seeking deferment of exam
New Delhi: With only two days left for the exam, a group of medical aspirants is planning to approach the Bombay High Court seeking postponement of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) examination.
Taking to Twitter, a user mentioned that already five petitioners have agreed to sign the plea and once they get the confirmation from the lawyer, they will move forward with the petition.
"Friends 5 petitioner are ready to sign the petition we are just waiting for the @AliKaashifKhan sir for the reply once hey reply we will file the petition in the Bombay High school let's hope for the best #postponeNEETUG2023," read the Tweet.
Apart from this, some of the medical aspirants have also moved an online petition seeking postponement of the UG medical entrance examination, scheduled to be conducted on May 7, 2023. More than 7000 aspirants have already signed the petition on change.org.
They have referred to several reasons for which the exam should be postponed. These reasons include clash of the NEET UG schedule with board exam, late city intimation resulting in travelling difficulties for the aspirants etc. Further, the aspirants have pointed out that the academic session for 2023-2024 will not start before December. So, there should not be any hurry to conduct the exam in May.
"We understand that govt is trying to bring back the pre pandemic academic schedule but postponing neet to just 15 days will not do any harm in our opinion.," the aspirants mentioned in the online petition.
"Not everyone can afford a drop year," the students further added in the plea.

Already National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the admit card for the exam.
Even though the exam is scheduled to be conducted only a few days later, the aspirants are still demanding a postponement of the exam. Taking to Twitter, one aspirant wrote, "Cutting short 2 whole months of preperation is unfair to our batch Academic calender restoration post covid shouldn't affect a single batch so harshly Postpone neet for a month."
Urging the Prime Minister of India to defer the exam, another aspirant wrote on Twitter, "@PMOIndia dear prime Minister Boards exams ke liye 1 year di jaati hn jabke 45 chapters hain .
