Promise of MBBS admission in Philippines! Aspirant, father duped of Rs 21 lakh, police nabs 3 running consultancy firm
Guntur: In the recent MBBS admission fraud case, the Gunter police have recently arrested three men and identified four individuals, residents of Guntur but live in the Philippines running a education consultancy firm. The gang manipulated and deceived a medical aspirant and his father of Rs 21.59 lakh under the pretext of securing a seat at a medical college in the Philippines.
While the three accused - a manager and two directors of 'Right Choice JS Professional Educational Services Private Limited' were caught in the case, the police have launched an investigation to take action against the four men living in the Philippines.
The total seven accused in the case have been identified as K Bala Ravi Teja, K Bala Shouraiah, P Lohitha, P Ravi Kumar, M Geethika, Narayana Pawan Kalyan, and P Siva.
As per TNIE news report, the gang was recently exposed after a man from Gurazala village in Palnadu lost around Rs 21.59 lakh after he was promised that his son would get into a medical college in the Philippines. Pretending to help him with the visa and admission formalities, the accused took the amount and did not even pay the college fees of the complainant's son.
As per the police, the gang allegedly manipulated families into paying large sums of money, under the pretext of securing college fees. However, the fees were never forwarded to the colleges, and the students were threatened with not returning their passports.
The incident began when the complaint approached Right Choice JS Professional Educational Services to help his son gain admission to a medical college in the Philippines. He was already in search of a consultancy firm.
After his son travelled to the Philippines and enrolled in the college, the complainant discovered that the consultancy had not paid the required college fees. When he confronted Ravi Teja, the consultant reportedly threatened his son, saying he would keep his passport if they asked further questions.
In response, the father of the medical aspirant filed a complaint with the Vattichekuru police. The police launched an investigation and identified several suspects involved in the scam.
After receiving the information about the suspect's location, the police raided and arrested the accused. They seized a laptop, three mobile phones used at the consultancy firm and a passport from their possession.
