Seeking MBBS seat at AIIMS Madurai this year! Know complete admission process, fee, seat matrix here

Madurai- For all MBBS candidates seeking admission into All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Madurai for the academic year 2024-25, the JIPMER mentor institute of AIIMS Madurai has released a prospectus detailing the admission process for the MBBS Course.

As per the prospectus, the duration of the MBBS course is 4 years and 6 months followed by 1 year of Compulsory Rotatory Internship for the award of the Degree. Of which, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry is a 1-year course, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Pathology, Forensic Medicine is a 1.5-year course and Ophthalmology, ENT, Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery (including Orthopedics), Obstetrics & Gynecology, Community and Family Medicine is a 2-year course.

For the academic year 2024-25, a total of 50 seats are vacant for Indian nationals for admission into the MBBS course. Meanwhile, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will apply the reservation roster on the seat matrix and publish the reservation category-wise distribution of seats on the MCC official website.

As per the prospectus, candidates along with their parents/guardians are instructed to appear in person at AIIMS Madurai by 9:15 am for the admission process. Below are the other details such as the admission process, documents, Fees, etc.-

ADMISSION PROCESS

The counselling for admission to MBBS courses in AIIMS Madurai campus will be conducted by the MCC, Directorate General of Health Services, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India based on the NTA National Eligibility and Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 All-India scores. Admissions to the MBBS course are subject to the verification of certificates and medical examination and payment of fees on reporting for admission at AIIMS Madurai.

DOCUMENTS

Candidates should bring the following documents at the time of admission within the stipulated time period, failing which, admission will be denied-

1 Identity proof.

2 Admit Cards of Exam issued by NTA.

3 Result/ Rank letter issued by NTA.

4 Provisional allotment letters generated online.

5 Proof of Date of Birth.

6 Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination.

7 Statement of marks of the qualifying examination.

8 Character and Conduct Certificate from the Head of the Institute last studied.

9 In case of Other Backward Classes/ Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribes, a Community Certificate, recently obtained from the competent authority.

10 Economically Weaker Sections (EWSs) candidates should produce the required Income & Asset Certificate.

11 Transfer Certificate / Migration Certificate from the Head of the Institution last studied.

12 Medical Certificate from the authorized centers.

ADMISSIONS TO THE MBBS COURSE WILL BE REJECTED IN THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

1 Candidates who fail to fulfil the prescribed age limit criteria.

2 Candidates who fail to obtain the minimum stipulated marks in the qualifying examination.

3 Candidates who have applied under the Non-Creamy Layer OBC Category and whose sub-caste is NOT listed in the current Central OBC List and whose certificate has not been submitted in the prescribed format from the Competent Authority.

4 The candidates who have applied under SC/ST Category WITHOUT valid Certificate as in the prescribed format from the Competent Authority.

FEES & OTHER PAYMENTS

The following fees should be paid by the candidates through the Demand Draft taken in favour of AIIMS Madurai payable at Puducherry immediately after the candidate has been declared medically fit by the Medical Board of the Institute. The fee should be paid for the entire course before reporting for admission, however, once the fee is paid will not be refunded under any circumstances. Also, fees are subject to revision.

Of which, candidates will have to pay Rs. 1628/- for academics and Rs. 4228/- for hostel separately through demand draft. Meanwhile, other annual fees, Examination fees and mess food fees structure will be intimated later.

PROCEDURES TO BE DONE BEFORE REPORTING

1 Take a DD for academic fees and hostel fees separately.

2 Keep the certificates and documents in the order in a file.

3 Hepatitis vaccination first dose certification.

4 Take printouts of the affidavits and undertakings and sign and bring the documents-

i Anti ragging undertaking by parent and student.

ii Substance abuse undertaking.

iii Hostel rules and regulations undertaking.

iv ID card application.

v Hepatitis B vaccination certificate.

vi Student code of conduct and honor code.

Meanwhile, the starting date of the MBBS 2024 batch course will be updated at a later date, therefore, candidates are instructed to keep on checking the AIIMS Madurai official website for further updates.
