Stop Re-NEET 2024: Aspirants sign online petition demanding no re-test
New Delhi: Amid the controversy regarding the NEET-UG 2024 examination results and the demand for a re-examination due to alleged irregularities, the medical aspirants who have passed the exam have launched an online petition urging the authorities to stop re-neet 2024.
Citing that conducting the examination again will put them under an immense mental and emotional burden, the medical aspirants have requested people to join their petition in preventing re-NEET 2024 and protecting the sacrifices made by genuine students.
The online petition filed on change.org on June 11, 2024, has been already signed by 253 people and the next goal for the petition has been set to 500 people.

Stating why the petition matters to them, the person who started the petition said "In case NEET 2024 is taken again, it not only negates our tireless efforts but also imposes an immense mental and emotional burden on us. We have dedicated two years of our lives to rigorous preparation, sacrificing personal time and enduring significant stress."
Further, the petitioner listed down several reasons why retaking the exam is unfair to them,
1) It undermines the hard work of diligent students who have already proven their capabilities.
2) Preparing for Neet is an exhaustive and long process. It is practically impossible to regain the same momentum and focus after such a gap.
3) The additional mental and emotional stress can lead to severe anxiety and depression.
4) Valuable time that could be spent on further education or career/personal development will be lost.
5) Resources such as money spent on coaching classes, study materials, and other preparations will go to waste.
6) The fault does not lie with hard-working students; we should not bear the consequences of systemic issues.
This comes after several candidates, medical aspirants, their parents and doctors have been demanding cancellation of the NEET 2024 and seeking a re-examination for the candidates following the NEET result 2024 controversy over paper leak allegations, implementation of grace marks by the National Testing Agency (NTA), and alleged error in results.
