TN Health extends application deadline for PG medical admissions 2025

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu medical education department (TN Health) has extended the deadline for online submission of applications for PG Degree and Diploma courses for the 2025-2026 academic session.

According to the Notification issued on September 16, candidates can now apply online till September 18, 2025, 5:00 pm, following multiple representations from aspirants.

"It is informed that as many representations have been received from candidates it is proposed to extend the date for receipt of applications in PG DEGREE /DIPLOMA Courses for the academic year 2025-2026 session," the notice read.

"Hence, the period for online submission of applications is extended up to 18.09.2025 at 05.00 pm, after considering the requests from candidates," the TN Health announced.

DOCUMENTS

Candidates must upload only visibly clear Self-attested Photocopies of certificates or documents listed below-

1 NEET PG 2025-Score Card.

2 NEET PG 2025-Admit Card.

3 Degree Certificate and Diploma Certificate, or Provisional Pass Certificate.

4 CRRI Completion Certificate.

5 Permanent or provisional Medical Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.

6 Community Certificate issued by the Competent authority indicating the Community status of candidates belonging to Backwards Community / Backwards Community (Muslim) / Most Backwards Community / Denotified Communities / Schedule Caste / Schedule Caste (Arunthathiyar). Scheduled Tribe candidates should produce community certificates issued by a Revenue Divisional Officer of the competent jurisdiction.

7 TNPSC / MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order (For Service Candidates).

8 Nativity Certificate by the competent authority.

9 For candidates applying under the Persons with Disability (PwD) category, they should obtain a recent medical certificate from the regional medical board and upload a clear copy of the Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate.

10 To upload the eligibility certificate obtained from the TN.Dr.MGR Medical University, Guindy, Chennai-32. (Only for the candidates who have qualified from other Universities).

11 Candidates are instructed to produce the above-mentioned original Certificates / Documents to the Head of the institution at the time of admission for certificate verification.

12 Same photo that has been uploaded for NEET PG 2025, must be uploaded for the online application.

13 A clearly visible copy of the Aadhaar Card has to be uploaded. Copy of Passport or Voter’s ID or Driving license to be uploaded, as a supportive document.

COUNSELLING PROCEDURES

There will be four Rounds of counselling, i.e., Round-1, Round-2, Round 3 (Mop-up) and Stray Round. Admission to PG Degree / Diploma courses shall be made through online counselling on the basis of rank by applying the rule of reservation/Roster. A Candidate who has not registered and not choice locked in the Round 1 of online counselling will be permitted to attend the subsequent Rounds of online counselling.

A candidate who has taken a seat and not joined/resigned from the course within the stipulated time in the Round 1 online counselling he/she is eligible to attend the Round 2 of online counselling. Re-allotment is permitted during Round 2 of counselling only based on Rank and Rule of Reservation.

ROUND 1 OF COUNSELLING

1 All eligible candidates participating in online counselling for PG Degree / Diploma Courses will have to remit a non-refundable amount of ₹1000/- through online as registration fee and the fee should be remitted online by logging on to the web portal of our official website.

The candidates allotted during Round 1 of the online counselling should download their provisional allotment order and join the course in the Medical College concerned on or before the date and time stipulated with the relevant documents.

The service candidates who resign from the seats either in Round 1 or Round 2 may exercise caution while submitting their resignation, as it may not be possible to get the same post/station from which they were relieved.

ROUND 2 OF COUNSELLING

1 Round 2 of online counselling will be conducted for the vacancies arising due to not joined / not allotted seats / resigned seats and/or newly sanctioned seats arising after the Round 1 counselling. The vacancies will be filled as per rank and communal reservation.

2 A Candidate who has not registered and has not chosen is not locked in the Round 1 of online counselling will be permitted to attend Round 2 of online counselling.

3 A candidate who has taken a seat not joined/resigned from the course within the stipulated time in the Round 1 online counselling is eligible to attend Round 2 of ONLINE COUNSELLING.

4 Candidates who retained their seat allotted during Round 1 beyond the stipulated date, or who have taken a reallotment seat during Round 2, or candidates who got newly allotted during Round 2 will be permitted to vacate the seat within the stipulated date given by the Selection Committee.

5 Candidates who have joined the allotted seat in Round 2 will be allowed to resign within the stipulated date given by the Selection Committee.

6 The State Quota candidates who joined and discontinued the course after the date as stipulated by the Selection Committee (after Round 2) should pay the Discontinuation Fees besides foregoing tuition fees already paid by them.

ROUND 3 (MOP UP)

1 After completion of Round 2 of online counselling, the remaining vacancies will be filled up with the candidates from the Rank list by Round 3 (Mop Up) online counselling.

2 If the candidate is allotted any seat from his / her locked choices in Round 1 and 2 and has joined, then the candidate is eligible for the Round 3 (Mop-up) counselling.

3 If the candidate is allotted but has NOT joined the course after downloading the allotment order in the Round 3 (Mop-Up) of online counselling, then they will have to forfeit the registration fee, Security Deposit and tuition fee paid by them.

4 A candidate is allotted a seat but has not joined the course and has not downloaded the allotment order in the Round 3 (Mop-up) of online counselling, then they will have to forfeit the Registration fee, Security Deposit and Tuition fee paid by them.

STRAY ROUND

1 Candidates who have been allotted and not joined/resigned / Round 1 and Round 2 have to pay the registration fee to participate in the Stray Round.

2 Candidates who freshly register for the Stray Round also need to pay the registration fee.

3 Only Candidates who have not been allotted in Round 1, 2 and Round 3 (Mop up), need not pay registration fees.

4 Candidates who discontinued with a penalty after the stipulated time cannot participate in further Rounds of counselling.
