TN Health to soon close registrations for DNB Post MBBS, Post Diploma 2025 admissions for service candidates, check details

Tamil Nadu- The Tamil Nadu medical education department (TN Health) has invited online applications for admission into the DNB Broad Speciality Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) for Service candidates for the 2025-26 session.

In this regard, TN Health has released a prospectus for candidates willing to participate in the said courses, detailing the application fee, security deposits, eligibility criteria, rank list, counselling procedure, etc.

As per the prospectus, the last date for online submission of application is 18 September 2025, Upto 05:00 PM. Below are the details-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

1 Candidates seeking admission in DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2-year Diploma Course) will have to qualify for the NEET PG 2025 conducted by the NBE.

2 Candidates should be Citizens of India and should have undergone the MBBS course, including the entire Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship (CRMI) period in the State of Tamil Nadu.

3 Candidates who are claiming the Nativity of Tamil Nadu and have completed MBBS in other states should upload their Certificates of Nativity of Tamil Nadu issued by the competent authority from the Revenue Department, Government of Tamil Nadu, with an official seal. Candidates are advised against dual nationality and if found anytime during admission or course of study, their allotment will be cancelled and appropriate legal action will be initiated by competent authorities.

4 The candidates are instructed to upload a Copy of the Aadhaar Card and a Copy of the Driving Licence or Voter’s ID or Passport, as a supportive document.

5 Candidates who are pursuing their Diploma courses (including All India Quota) are eligible to apply for DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) Courses in the same academic year of 2025-2026, if he/she complete the course before 11.09.2025 commencement of the counselling process.

6 Candidates who have cleared their MBBS Examination and completed/completing the CRMI period on or before 31-07-2025 are only eligible to apply for DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2-year Diploma Course) 2025-26 session. However, the candidates should possess the Permanent Medical Council Registration Certificate of the States or of India or the Provisional Registration Certificate of the Medical Council at the time of the Counselling/admission.

NON-ELIGIBILITY

1 Candidates who join a DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) 2025-2026 session in any Branch and discontinue the course in any Round on or after the Round 2 as per the guidelines of National Broad of Examinations, are not eligible to apply for subsequent academic year for any DNB Broad Specialty - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) Courses as per NBE norms. Further, the candidate shall be considered as discontinued and should pay the Discontinuation Fee.

2 The candidates who take allotments for DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) 2025-2026 session in any branch in the Mop-Up Round of counselling must join the course; if not, they are not eligible to apply for subsequent academic year for any DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2 years Diploma Course) session as per NBE norms for 2022. The candidate shall be considered as discontinued and should pay the discontinuation fee.

SERVICE CANDIDATES

Candidates should fill online proforma, then download it and get it verified and signed by a competent forwarding authority with an official seal. Competent authorities, who are issuing certificates for Government Medical officers, have to issue a complete Service Proforma including the candidate’s leave and deputation in detail. This complete service particular should be uploaded by the candidate within the stipulated time.

ELIGIBLE SERVICE CANDIDATES

The following categories of Medical Officers will be treated as Service Candidates for the purpose of allotment of seats-

i Medical Officers selected by the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) / Medical Services Recruitment Board (MRB) through Competitive Written Examination / Special Qualifying Examination and appointed in Tamil Nadu Medical Services should have completed a minimum of Two Years of continuous service, as on 31.03.2025.

ii Medical Officers serving in Local Bodies in Tamil Nadu should have completed a minimum of two years of continuous service, as on 31.03.2025.

NON-ELIGIBILITY FOR SERVICE QUOTA

1 Candidates who have been temporarily appointed and who have not completed two years of continuous service as on 31.03.2025, are not eligible to apply for Post Graduate admission in the 2025-2026 session. If any application received from such candidates or even if certified inadvertently by the competent authority, that application will be summarily rejected.

2 Candidates working in Institutions coming under the “Registered Societies Act” and “Self Financing Institutions” shall be considered as Non-Service candidates.

3 If any Medical Officer working in Government Institutions / Local Bodies applies as a Private candidate suppressing the fact of this employment, and if found later about their service status, their application will be summarily rejected and their allotments will be cancelled, if allotted.

APPLICATION FEE

At the time of Application, all candidates must pay the application fee of Rs 3,000/- (Non-refundable). However, Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyar) / Scheduled Tribe candidates of Tamil Nadu native are exempted from payment of the cost of online application.

REGISTRATION FEE

At the time of registration for counselling, all candidates must pay the non-refundable registration fee of Rs 1000/-.

SECURITY DEPOSIT

Government Institutions / Hospitals- Rs 30,000/-. Security Deposit will be refunded to candidates within three months after the end of the entire counselling process. No interest amount for the Security Deposit will be paid to the candidates.

PROCEDURE FOR FILLING & SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION

1 The candidate should log on to the official website of TN Health.

2 Change of particulars in the online Application shall not be entertained under any circumstances after completing the final submission of the online application. No offline submission of documents is accepted.

3 Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

4 Candidates are advised to submit only one online Application.

5 Candidates should ensure that all information entered in the online application is true and correct.

6 The Government reserves its right to amend the prospectus and make any modification in this prospectus during any phase of the counselling process, and to implement/adhere to any modification by DGHS / MCC and the honourable court of law.

DOCUMENTS

Candidates must upload only visibly clear self-attested photocopies of certificates/documents.

1 NEET PG 2025 - Admit Card and NEET PG 2025.

2 MBBS Degree Certificate and Diploma Certificate or Provisional Pass Certificate.

3 CRMI Completion Certificate.

4 Permanent or Provisional Medical Registration Certificate issued by the Medical Council of India / State Medical Council.

5 Community Certificate issued by the competent authority of the Government of Tamil Nadu indicating the community status of candidates belonging to Backwards Community / Backwards Community (Muslim) / Most Backwards Community / Denotified Communities / Schedule Caste / Schedule Caste (Arunthathiyar).

6 TNPSC / MRB (through competitive written examination) Selection & Posting Order (For Service Candidates).

7 Nativity Certificate by the competent authority.

8 For candidates applying under the Persons with Disability (PwD) category should obtain a recent medical certificate from the regional medical board and upload a clear copy of the Persons with Disability (PwD) certificate.

9 Candidates are instructed to produce all original Certificates / Documents for certificate verification at their allotted Institution.

10 Same photo that has been uploaded for NEET PG 2025-Admit Card, must be uploaded during online application.

11 Postcard-sized colour photograph (4”x6”) (size: 50kb to 300kb) to be uploaded.

12 Clearly visible copy of Aadhaar Card to be uploaded; Copy of Passport or Voter’s ID or Driving license to be uploaded, as a supportive document.

COUNSELLING PROCEDURES

There are four Rounds of counselling, i.e., Round-1, Round-2, Round-3 (Mop-up) and Stray Round. Admission to DNB Broad Speciality - Post MBBS and Post MBBS Diploma Seats (2-year Diploma Course) courses shall be made through online counselling on the basis of rank by applying the rule of reservation.

A Candidate who has not registered and not choice locked in the Round 1 will be permitted to attend the subsequent Rounds of online counselling. A candidate who has taken a seat and not joined/resigned from the course within the stipulated time in Round 1 of online counselling is eligible to attend Round 2 of online counselling.
