TN NEET Counselling 2026 round 1 dates further extended, choice filling now open till August 24, check details

Tamil Nadu: Bringing change to the ongoing undergraduate medical admission process, the Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has revised the Round 1 counselling dates for MBBS and BDS admissions for the 2026-27 session.
The revised schedule comes following the UG State Counselling revised schedule, issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). In line with the revised national schedule, Tamil Nadu has modified its Round 1 timeline.
Once the choice-filling window closes, the Selection Committee will undertake the processing of seat allotment on August 25 and 26, 2026. Following this, the Round 1 allotment result will be published on August 27, 2026.
Thereafter, candidates who are allotted MBBS or BDS seats in Round 1 will be able to download their allotment orders from August 27 until September 5, 2026, up to 12 noon. The last date for candidates to report and complete joining formalities at their allotted colleges is September 5, 2026, by 5:00 PM. Below is the detailed schedule-

In a separate notification, the Selection Committee has issued instructions for candidates who had already received allotments during the offline Special Category counselling conducted on August 13.
Such candidates have now been asked to report to their respective allotted colleges from August 27 to September 5, 2026. Their joining period will therefore coincide with that of candidates receiving seats through the first round of online counselling.
