TN NEET counselling 2026 round 1 dates extended, choice filling open till August 20

Tamil Nadu: The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Tamil Nadu, has extended the Round 1 State UG Medical Counselling schedule for MBBS and BDS admissions 2026, following an extension announced by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the All India Quota counselling process.
According to the notification issued by the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee in this regard, candidates can now register, fill their choices and lock their choices until 5:00 PM tomorrow, i.e. August 20, 2026.
The extension has been announced in view of the MCC, under which the counselling timeline for All India Quota seats was extended.
Under the revised timeline for the TN NEET counselling, processing of seat allotment will take place on August 21, 2026, while the Round 1 allotment result will be published on August 22, 2026.
Candidates allotted seats will be able to download their allotment orders from August 22 to August 28, 2026, up to 12 noon. The final deadline for reporting to the allotted institution has been fixed at 5:00 PM on August 28, 2026. Below is the detailed revised schedule-

Candidates should also carefully review their preferred colleges and courses before final locking, as the submitted choices will be considered during the seat allotment process. The revised schedule gives candidates additional time to complete their choice filling and locking process for Round 1.
