UP DGME bars 148 candidates from NEET PG 2025 counselling, Check complete list here

Uttar Pradesh- The Uttar Pradesh Director General of Medical Education and Training (UPDGME) has barred a total of 148 candidates from participating in the Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility and Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling for the academic year 2025-26.
This action has been taken against candidates who did not join or resigned from the MD, MS seats allotted during the stray vacancy and special stray vacancy rounds of the previous academic session.
As per the NEET PG admission guidelines issued last year, “If any candidate does not take admission after allotment from the stray vacancy round, the security deposit of such candidate will be forfeited and he/she will be barred from UP NEET PG counselling 2025-26”.
Moreover, the rules state that if the concerned candidates leave the seat after the counselling of the last cycle before completing the course, then they will be debarred from the admission process of the next academic session.
Meanwhile, according to the list, out of 148 candidates, a total of 59 did not take admission despite being allotted seats, while 89 students resigned from their admitted seats in MD and MS courses after the final round of counselling. The DGME has published two separate lists of the deprived candidates, containing their names, roll numbers, NEET PG ranks and allotted institutes.

The UPDGME will soon release the dates for UP NEET PG counselling 2025 on its official website. Eligible candidates will be able to register by paying a non-refundable registration fee of around ₹3,000. However, the security amount will vary depending on the course and the type of institute.
The counselling will be conducted by UP DGME for admission to MD, MS, Diploma, DNB and MDS courses in government and private medical institutions of Uttar Pradesh.
