UP DGME debars 13 NEET MDS candidates from 2026-27 counselling

The action has been taken against nine candidates who failed to join their allotted seats after the Special Stray Vacancy Round and four candidates who resigned from their admitted seats before completing the course.

In a notice issued by the UPDGME, the Directorate referred to the admission policy issued for postgraduate medical and dental courses for the 2025-26 academic session. Under the policy, candidates who fail to take admission after receiving an allotment in the Stray Vacancy Round are liable to lose their security deposit and face exclusion from the following academic year’s counselling.

The Directorate identified nine candidates who secured MDS seats during the Special Stray Vacancy Round of UP NEET MDS 2025–26 but did not report for admission at the following institutes.

1 Inderprastha Dental College and Hospital, Ghaziabad.

2 DJ College of Dental Sciences and Research, Modinagar.

3 Kalka Dental College, Meerut.

4 Dental College, Azamgarh.

5 Institute of Dental Sciences, Bareilly.

These candidates had been allotted seats in specialities including Pedodontics and Preventive Dentistry, Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Periodontology, and Public Health Dentistry.

The notice also names four candidates who resigned from their allotted MDS seats after completing the admission process but before completing their respective courses.

DGME cited the applicable government directions, which provide that candidates leaving an admitted seat before completing the course may be barred from participating in the next academic session’s admission process.

Accordingly, all 13 candidates listed in the notice have been prohibited from registering for the UP NEET PG/MDS 2026–27 counselling process.
