UP NEET PG 2025 counselling: DGME sets resignation deadline, issues inservice doctors lists for round 3

Lucknow: The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, has released important updates related to UP NEET PG 2025 counselling, including the publication of lists of eligible inservice medical officers for the third round of counselling and an official notice regarding resignation from allotted seats ahead of the next counselling phase.
All the concerned candidates are advised to take note of the following details as released on the said UP DGME notifications.
Resignation Deadline for Already Admitted Candidates
UP DGME has also issued important instructions regarding resignation for candidates already admitted through the first and second rounds of UP NEET PG 2025 counselling.
"Candidates who wish to resign from their allotted MD/MS/Diploma/DNB seats must do so in person at the same nodal centre where admission was completed, on or before 11:00 AM on February 1, 2026. This deadline falls two days prior to the commencement of third round choice filling," stated the notice.
Resignations submitted through any other mode will not be accepted.
Eligible PMHS and PHMS Doctors for Third Round Counselling
In reference to Letter No. ME-3/PG-2025/42 dated January 7, 2026, and pursuant to Notice No. U-12021/11/2025-MEC issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Government of India, the DGME has forwarded details of eligible in-service candidates who wish to participate in the third round of NEET PG 2025 counselling following the revision of the qualifying percentile.
Accordingly, a list of 27 eligible medical officers from the PMHS cadre has been submitted. These officers have:
Appeared for and qualified NEET PG 2025
Completed more than three years of continuous and satisfactory service in remote and difficult areas as of December 31, 2024
In addition, an additional list of 37 eligible medical officers from the PHMS cadre has been forwarded. These candidates have also qualified NEET PG 2025 and completed three years or more of continuous and satisfactory departmental service, making them eligible to participate in counselling for Post MBBS DNB and Post MBBS Diploma courses.
Verification Before Issuance of No Objection Certificate (NOC)
The DGME has clarified that while forwarding these lists, it is not possible at this stage to verify the status of:
- Court cases or prosecution
- Disciplinary or departmental proceedings
- Final confirmation of satisfactory service records
Therefore, the Additional Director (Personnel), Health Building, Lucknow, has been requested to ensure that No Objection Certificates (NOCs) are issued only after proper verification of the above aspects at their level for doctors selected through counselling.
