Which feeder qualification needed for DM, DrNB Medical Genetics? NBE notifies

New Delhi: For the NEET SS 2025 aspirants seeking admission to DM or DrNB Medical Genetics, any MD/MS/DNB Broad Speciality can be considered as a feeder qualification.
DM/DrNB Medical Genetics are super-speciality level courses for doctors in India that is done by them after completion of their postgraduate medical degree course. The duration of this super speciality course is 3 years, and it focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of hereditary disorders.
Medical Genetics is the speciality of medicine that involves the diagnosis and management of genetic disorders. With the recent dramatic advances in genomics and genetics, Medical Genetics has emerged as an important clinical speciality worldwide. It is true to say that all diseases have a genetic component, which varies with the disorder. All families with genetic disorders can be helped by making a precise diagnosis, appropriate management and proper counselling. In a resource-poor country like India, there is a paramount need for preventing the birth of affected children and reducing the socio-economic burden of genetic disorders through community control programs comprising genetic screening and prenatal diagnosis. To achieve these objectives, a cadre of physicians and scientists trained in genetic medicine is required. This is especially important as the Human Genome Project has generated a lot of new information that can be applied to help patients and be the basis of personalised medicine.
As per the information bulletin released by the National Board of Examinations (NBE), the feeder qualification for DM and DrNB Medical Genetics is any MD/MS/DNB Broad Speciality defined by the NBE and is subject to changes by the NBE.
The eligibility criteria for DM/DrNB Medical Genetics are defined as the set of rules or minimum prerequisites that aspirants must meet in order to be eligible for admission, which include:
