AIIMS Patna Cancels Leave for all MBBS interns, resident doctors
Patna- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna has informed about the leave cancellation for all MBBS interns, Junior Residents, Senior Residents and Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Residents
Through a notice, the institute stated that due to the impending situation, no leave of any kind, including station leave, will be granted to all Junior Residents, Senior Residents and Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) Residents except on medical grounds till further notice.
According to the notice, if any leave has already been sanctioned, it has been cancelled and the resident doctor on leave has been directed to return to his duty immediately. The head of the department/in-charge can instruct his officers/staff accordingly.
Along with this, through another notice, AIIMS Patna has also informed that till further orders, MBBS interns will also not be granted any kind of leave, including station leave, except on medical grounds. Also, previously approved leave, if any, has been cancelled, and interns who are on leave have been directed to return to their duty immediately. Heads of Departments/Incharges may instruct their interns accordingly.
Medical Dialogues recently reported that In response to the ongoing military tensions between India and Pakistan, the Delhi government has directed all hospitals in the capital to conduct mock drills and gear up for potential large-scale medical emergencies that may arise from cross-border conflict.
Following the government's order, several government and private hospitals are ramping up their preparedness to handle any potential emergency. Many recently carried out large-scale mock drills within their premises to test their response capabilities. These drills focused on providing immediate treatment to patients with critical injuries such as burns, fractures, and other trauma, while also training doctors and medical staff to operate efficiently under high-pressure emergency scenarios.
Apart from mock drills, the hospitals have also been asked to have extra beds, full stock of critical drugs and medical supplies, including blood and other medical items, which are essential during emergencies.
Major government-run hospitals in the capital conducted mock drills, including Safdarjung Hospital, Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, and Lok Nayak Hospital.
