DG Inspects Under-construction Medical College, Civil Hospital in Bhiwani
Haryana- Recently, the Director General of the Medical Education and Research Department, Dr Saket Kumar inspected the necessary facilities including the classrooms, laboratories, lifts and hostels of the under-construction medical college being established near the Police Line in Bhiwani, Haryana.
Along with this, Dr Kumar also inspected the upgraded civil hospital building in the Bansilal General Hospital complex. During the inspection, the DG directed the medical officers to pay special attention to the oxygen facility, power backup and check the quality of wiring being used in the electrical fittings.
Furthermore, Dr Kumar also visited the Nursing Hostel, where he also had a conversation with the female students who are studying there. In the conversation, the students shared their problems and also put forth several demands before the DG including waiving off hostel fees, shifting from the old hostel building to another place and providing scholarships, report Tribune India.
After listening to the students, the DG seemed to agree with them and also agreed that the hostel building is old. Meanwhile, he immediately directed the concerned officials to find another building to facilitate the nursing students with the appropriate hostel.
Deputy Commissioner Naresh Narwal, Acting Director of the under-construction Medical College, Dr. Geeta and Civil Surgeon Dr. Raghubir Shandilya also accompanied Dr Saket Kumar in this inspection.
According to Tribune report, the building of the newly established medical college is likely to be ready soon and will now be equipped with other necessary facilities also. Additionally, classes for the upcoming session are also likely to begin, as 100 seats have already been allotted to the college.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that 8 more medical colleges will come up soon in Haryana by the year 2025-26. Also, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced the opening of 6 nursing colleges in Faridabad, Rewari, Kaithal, Kurukshetra and Panchkula for Rs 194 crore.
