GSL Medical College Holds India's First-Ever Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy-FUSE programme
Andhra Pradesh- Taking a significant step towards medical treatment, GSL Medical College and General Hospital in Andhra Pradesh organised a workshop on Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy (FUSE) programme. GSL Medical College and General Hospital hosted to host the first-ever FUSE program in India.
The workshop took place on Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm, reported Hans India.
As per the Hans India media news report, Dr Steven Schwitzberg, chairman, Department of Surgery, Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Buffalo, Dr Pascal Fuchshuber, general surgeon, Sutter East Bay Medical Group, San Francisco, Dr Edward Jones, assistant professor of surgery, University of Colorado Hospital, Denver, Dr Kinga Powers, general surgeon, Stony Brook University Hospital, New York, and Dr Jaisa Olasky, director of robotic surgical education, Department of General Surgery, Lenox Hill Hospital, New York participated in the FUSE program as faculty.
The Fundamental Use of Surgical Energy (FUSE) program has been developed by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES). The program provides a life-long valid certification and is an essential educational opportunity for practising surgeons and postgraduates in all surgical specialities.
The FUSE course aims to provide comprehensive training on the safe use of surgical energy-based devices. This includes their application in operating rooms, endoscopic suites, and other procedural areas.
