JIPMER notifies on Orientation Program for MBBS Interns For February 2025 Batch, Details
Puducherry- Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is going to conduct the MBBS Intern Orientation Programme (IOP) for the February 2025 batch. The IOP for MBBS interns for the August 2024 batch is going to be held on the 3rd and 4th of February 2025 at the Department of Medical Education, JIPMER.
In this regard, JIPMER has issued a circular informing that the registration for the program will start sharp at 8.30 am on 03 February 2025. For the MBBS Intern Orientation Program, full-time attendance and punctuality of the intern are mandatory. However, if the intern arrives late or does not appear on any program day, he/she will be treated as absent.
Meanwhile, the interns are requested to bring their hospital case sheet with barcode stickers, hepatitis vaccination card, and/or titre values, depending on the status of their vaccination.
Moreover, all the Heads of Departments are requested to circulate the circular among the interns and allow them to attend the programme. It is also requested that they should not be put on night duty from 2nd February to 4th February 2025 and all the Unit Heads are informed to release the trainees on time so that they can attend all the sessions on time.
The Intern Orientation Program is organised to familiarise medical interns with their roles within various work settings, such as wards, OPD, emergency rooms, and the community. The program aims to equip interns with effective communication skills, both verbal and written, an understanding of patient's psychosocial needs, proper techniques for sample collection and transport for laboratory tests, awareness of ethical considerations in patient care, fostering a sense of belonging to the institute and emphasising their responsibility and accountability in patient care. Additionally, the program guides interns in interacting with medical representatives.
