JIPMER to Honour Faculty with Research Awards on 10th Research Day Celebration, Details
Puducherry- On the Research Day celebrations, Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) is going to present two awards for faculty members, this has been informed through an official notice.
On 8th March 2025, JIPMER is going to celebrate its 10th Research Day function. On this day, JIPMER has decided to present 2 awards for faculty members based on their research contribution in the last five years namely JIPMER Research Award in Basic Sciences and JIPMER Research Award in Clinical/Nursing Sciences. Along with this award, the awardees will also be given a plaque and a cash prize of Rs 25,000.
As per the official notice, the selection for the current year's awards will be made on the basis of an assessment of the quantity and quality of research work published as a faculty member at JIPMER in the last five years i.e. in 2020 or thereafter and its impact, which will be evaluated by a committee comprising external members.
Meanwhile, applicants are expected to submit a list of their selected 5 best papers and reprints of other papers during the 5-year period to be considered for the award. However, it should be noted that awardees are not required to list papers not included in PubMed.
Further, the current faculty members can also apply for the award by sending the hard copy of the form to the Dean (Research) and the soft copy of the form along with all enclosures in one file by January 31, 2025.
Medical Dialogues has earlier reported that on 8th March 2025, JIPMER will also facilitate the MD, MS and PhD students with the E Mahalingam Memoria Award and Dr Shyam Sharma Memorial Award. Applications are invited from (MD/MS/PhD) students for the E. Mehlingam Memorial Award and Dr. Shyam Sharma Memorial Award. Whereas, E. Mehlingam Memorial Award will be given for the best scientific paper presentation by a PhD student and Dr. Shyam Sharma Memorial Award will be given for the best MD/MS dissertation.
