Jamshedpur: MEDORIENT 2023-24, a significant inauguration event held on September 1, 2023, marked the commencement of the academic year 2023–24 at Manipal Tata Medical College (MTMC).

This annual tradition at MTMC is designed to ease the transition into the demanding world of medical studies while instilling the institution's core values.
According to The Pioneer report the festivities began with a symbolic lamp-lighting ceremony, followed by a touching floral tribute to Dr TMA Pai, the distinguished founder of the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. The White Coat Ceremony, a major occasion in which students received instruction from the Dean, Associate Deans, and Faculty members as they donned their white coats, was the event's pinnacle. This deed represented the beginning of their professional path in medicine. Furthermore, students reaffirmed their steadfast commitment to respecting the ethical values that govern the practice of medicine and prioritising the well-being of their future patients by taking the solemn "Charaka Shapath" pledge.
