MKCG college junior alleges ragging: Senior Resident booked
Berhampur: A senior resident attached to MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur has been booked after a second-year medico complained that the accused ragged him on campus. The incident irked the second-year medicos of the institution who then approached the Dean seeking action against the senior.
As per a recent media report by Odisha TV, one of the senior resident doctors ragged another junior medico who was a boarder of the college hostel on the night of May 7. The initial investigation has revealed that the second-year students including the medico were trying to organize an informal cultural event on the campus. However, he was ragged by a senior resident doctor.
After that, a group of MBBS students lodged a complaint at the dean's office following which an FIR was lodged at Baidyanathpur police station. Berhampur SP, Saravana Vivek said the dean of the medical college had registered a case after the medicos approached him. According to The New Indian Express, the hostel and anti-ragging cell authorities did not disclose any of the incidents till CCTV footage of the incident reached the dean Abanikanta Mishra two days back.
