NMC approves 2 New MD Courses at Kalpana Chawla Medical College
Karnal: Bringing good news to the postgraduate medical aspirants in Haryana and especially in Karnal District, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has given its nod for two new postgraduate courses in the Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College (KCGMC).
NMC, the apex medical education regulatory body in India has approved MD courses in pharmacology and forensic medicine subjects and for now, the college has been granted two seats in each of these subjects.
With this, the college has got the nod for running 5 MD courses altogether including the MD courses in anatomy, microbiology, and biochemistry.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that NMC had approved four seats in each of those three MD courses for the academic year 2021-2022.
Doctor of Medicine aka MD is a Post-graduate medical degree offered by medical institutions. A student in India can get admitted to the MD course after completing the MBBS course and the PG medical entrance examination, i.e. NEET-PG. This course mainly deals with in-depth knowledge and hands-on training on several subjects including Anatomy, Radiotherapy, General Medicine, etc.

He further informed the daily that with the nod for these two MD courses, the students will not have to go to any other institutes for the admission.
