No Convocation 2020 amid COVID outbreak, Degree certificates will be sent by Post: JIPMER
Puducherry: Through a recent notice, the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) has informed that there will be no convocation this year keeping in view of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
It this backdrop, the eligible students will be sent their degree certificates via post.
The said notice clearly states:
It is proposed to prepare the Degree Certificates for those students who have completed their degree requirements during the last academic year. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation conducting the Convocation-2020 is undesirable. Hence it is decided to send the degree certificates by post to the eligible students.
The students are required to remit the Certificate Processing Fees of Rs. 1500/-(Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred only) through SBI Collect available in the link given below:
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can trace its origins to the 'Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry' established by the French Government in 1823. In 1956 foundation for a new medical college was laid and in 1964, the hospital was inaugurated. JIPMER became an institution of national importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in the year 2008. It is an institution established for teaching, research, and patient care in the area of health. JIPMER spreads over 192 acres.
