No water, electricity issues: MBBS students protest flagging poor facilities at Faridabad's medical college

Faridabad: The lack of basic facilities on campus for MBBS students at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College, Chhainsa, has come under criticism.
In a video, students claimed that there is no proper access to clean drinking water and that the electricity arrangements in classrooms are inadequate. They said this has made the situation difficult, especially during the ongoing extreme heat.
Students added that these issues are not new and have been continuing for a long time. One student alleged that despite repeated complaints, authorities only fix the problems temporarily, after which the situation worsens again.
Due to the lack of clean water, students said they are forced to buy drinking water online. They stressed that they need a permanent solution rather than temporary arrangements.
Apart from this, students also raised concerns about the hospital attached to the college. They claimed that there are no patients, irregular electricity supply, and no proper clean water facility. They added that while they came to study, the institution lacks basic academic infrastructure.
Condemning the situation, Dr. Mohammad Momin Khan, Vice President, AIMSA, called the incident "shameful" and demanded immediate intervention by authorities to ensure proper facilities for medical students.
The issue has sparked widespread concern within the medical fraternity, with calls for urgent action.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the first-year MBBS students at ESIC Medical College in Noida held strike, demanding immediate action from the administration due to lack of basic infrastructure and poor facilities. The entire batch of around 50 students joined the protest. The students claimed that non-air-conditioned lecture halls, especially amid rising temperatures of around 40°C, have made it extremely difficult to attend classes.
