Hailing from Purushottampur, the student took admission at the medical college to complete her higher studies. Following which, she was staying at the hostel since she was serving duties at the hospital section of the college.
The incident was discovered yesterday when her classmates found that she was absent and did not turn up at the hospital for duties. Finding the situation unusual, her classmates went to her room in the senior residents' hostel to get updates. After they opened the door of her room, they found her lying unconscious on the bed.
Immediately, they informed the college authorities and took her to hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Later, the police were informed who conducted preliminary investigation upon their arrival.
While searching her room, the police found several medicine packets related to migraine attack under her bed. Therefore, they suspect that she may have taken a large number of medications while suffering from a migraine attack, which led to her death due to drug overdose.
Meanwhile, her body was sent for postmortem and was later handed over to her family members who confirmed that she was suffering from migraine for the last few years.
“A case of unnatural death has been registered following her death and subsequently, a post-mortem was performed. We were told that she was suffering from some disease. We have kept all her tissues for histopathological finding. Her viscera has been preserved. We will know the final cause of death,” Dr Professor Sudipta Das of MKCG told OdishaTV.
