MUHS issues notice on implementation of final year course on Amraz-e-Jild wa Tazeeniyat in BUMS syllabus
Mumbai: Through a recent notice, the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has informed about the implementation of final year course on Amraz-e-Jild wa Tazeeniyat in BUMS syllabus.
All the concerned students are requested to go through the notice details as mentioned below:
1. Skin Diseases
1. Brief anatomy, physiology of the skin.
2. Types of skin and its variants.
3. Common signs and symptoms of skin diseases.
4. Skin lesions and its classification
a. Zarar-e-Ibtedayi (Primary lesions)
b. Zarar-e- Sanvi (Secondary lesions)
c. Zarar-e- Makhsoosa (Special lesions)
d. Basoor aur uski aqsaam
5. Basic principle of treatment of skin diseases.
6. Tadabeer of skin diseases.
7. Drugs used in skin diseases and cosmetology.
8. Brief introduction of medical emergencies in dermatology and life threatening skin disorders.
9. Causes, pathogenesis, clinical features, diagnosis, and management of the following disease:
10. Muta'ddi amraz (Infectious diseases)
a. Viral diseases: Hasba (Measles), Humaiqa (Chickenpox / Varicella), Judri (Small Pox), Namla aur uski aqsaam (Herpes and its types)
b. Bacterial diseases: Juzam (Hansen's disease), Aatishak (Syphilis), Impetigo, Diqq-ul-jild (TB of Skin), Surkhbada (Erysipelas), Shab chiragh (Carbuncle).

Investigations:
Wood lamp examination, Diascopy, KOH-Mount test, Culture & sensitivity test, Skin biopsy, Allergens test (patch test, prick test etc.), Lepromin test, Cytological test, Immunological test, Immunofluorescence, ELISA, Tzank smear.
Procedures:
Examination of lesions by magnifying & Electro magnifying lenses, Photo/UV Therapy, Microscopy, Preparation of Slit Smear.
Juz-e-Amli (Practical)
100 marks
The practical/ Clinical Training of the subject shall be conducted in the hospital which includes OPD/IPD duties, Ward rounds, Clinical demonstration.
The minimum hours of teaching should not be less than 100 hours. Audio-visual should be utilized for teaching purpose and at least one seminar should be conducted once in a month.
