WBUHS releases guidelines on conduct of Oral, Practical DM, MCh Exams August 2020

Kolkata: Through a recent notice, the West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) has informed about the guidelines for the conduct of Oral & Practical Examinations of DM/M.Ch Examinations August 2020.

The notice issued by the Deputy Controller of Examinations clearly mentions that in view of the discussion held in the meeting of the Board of Studies DM/M.Ch on 08.08.2020 through webinar and the relaxation in conduct of Post Graduate Examinations for Superspeciality courses (DM/M.Ch) issued by the Medical Council of India vide Advisory bearing no. MCI23(1)/2020/Med./13182, dated 05.08.2020, the following guidelines are issued for the conduct of Oral & Practical Examinations of DM/M.Ch Examinations August 2020.

i) Both the External Examiners may be engaged from any other colleges under this University.

ii) Alternatively, the colleges who are confident of conducting the Practical Examinations through video conferencing may do so with both the External Examiners from outside of the State of West Bengal.

iii) In any case, the appointment of Examinations would be made by the University. In conducting the Practical Examinations, the guidelines/advisory issued by the MCI from time to time should be strictly followed.

All the Colleges are requested to communicate the method under which they would conduct the Practical Examinations by return-mail.

For the purposes of affiliating, teaching and ensuring proper and systematic instruction, training and research in Modern System of Medicine, Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Ayurvedic System of Medicine, Unani System of Medicine, Nursing Education, Pharmacy Education, Dental Education, Education on Laboratory Technology, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Education on other paramedical courses 'THE WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ACT – 2002' was passed by the West Bengal Legislature and 'The West Bengal University of Health Sciences' came into existence on 1st January, 2003 at DD-36, Sector-1, Salt Lake, Kolkata-700 064.

From 2003 the University took up the responsibility of Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Post-doctoral courses including the Ph. D programme in Modern System of Medicine, Homoeopathic System of Medicine, Ayurvedic System of Medicine, Unani System of Medicine, Nursing Education, Pharmacy Education, Dental Education, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy and Education on other paramedical courses like Occupational Therapy and Prosthetics-Orthotics in the state of West Bengal.
