New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) recently opened the application window for the DrNB Final Examination April 2026 session. Candidates can apply till March 23, 2026, 11:55 PM.

As per the information bulletin, the DrNB Final Theory Examination will be held on April 24, 25 and 26, 2026, and this session is exclusively for super speciality disciplines.

NBEMS has clarified that the examination is an exit exam leading to the award of DrNB qualification and is conducted twice every year.

This Final Examination is exclusively for Super Specialty disciplines.

Information for candidates

DrNB – Final is an exit examination leading to the award of DrNB qualification. National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) conduct DrNB Final Examination biannually every year.

The next session of DrNB Final Theory Examination shall be held in April 2026 as per schedule detailed under Important Dates and Scheme of Examination. This examination shall be conducted only for Super specialties.

For eligibility criteria to appear in this examination, please refer Chapter 4 of this information bulletin.

Candidates should go through this bulletin carefully for eligibility criteria before applying. Queries pertaining to eligibility and other issues will only be entertained if the information requested is not given in the bulletin of information or NBEMS website.

No Queries of the Guardians / Parents / Spouse will be entertained on telephone with regard to the eligibility and disclosure of the results.

As per the Gazette No. CG-DL-E-10092025-266044 dt. 09.09.2025, NBEMS is allowed to perform authentication and is permitted the use of Aadhaar number during authentication for establishing identity of Aadhaar number holder. The said gazette is attached at Annexure-VII in the notice attached.

NBEMS reserves its right to capture the Aadhaar of the candidates in accordance with the applicable rules as per Aadhaar Act, 2016.

The list of super specialties in which examination will be conducted in April 2026 can be seen at Annexure-II in the notice attached.

Candidates are deemed to have read, agreed and accepted the Information Bulletin and the terms and conditions in the Information Bulletin for DrNB Final Examination April 2026 on completing the online submission of application form.

Candidate should ensure that all the information entered during the online submission of application form is correct and factual. Information provided by the candidates in the online application form shall be treated as correct.

NBEMS itself does not edit / modify / alter any information entered by the candidates at the time of online submission of application form under any circumstances. Candidates are requested to fill their data correctly.

Please refer Chapter on Instructions to Fill DrNB Final Theory Examination April 2026 Application Form. It shall be the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure that the application submitted is complete in all aspects as per the information bulletin.

Application for DrNB Final Theory Exam can only be submitted online through NBEMS website.

Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected. There is no requirement to submit the hard copy print out of the application form and documents uploaded to NBEMS website.

A candidate can submit the application form only once. If a candidate is found to have submitted more than one application form for DrNB Final Examination April 2026, NBEMS may issue admit card to the application bearing higher order Application number (application ID) and cancel other application(s) forfeiting the fee for them. In an event any unfair practice is detected by NBEMS at any stage of examination/ admission process, NBEMS may cancel the candidature of such candidates and debar them from appearing in any examinations conducted by NBEMS as per provisions of the Unfair Means Guidelines.

Application form of candidates producing false or fabricated records will not be considered and the candidate may be further debarred from appearing in any future examinations of NBEMS. Action as deemed appropriate by NBEMS will be taken if false or fabricated records / information is submitted or any unfair means are used.

Candidates who fail to submit duly completed applications with requisite documents and / or fail to rectify the deficiencies in their applications by the last date prescribed for rectification shall be declared ineligible. Admit Card shall not be issued to candidates who are declared ineligible before conduct of examination. In such cases, the entire fees will be forfeited.

Candidates are advised to ensure that the information provided is factual and supported with documents. Columns marked (*) in the application form are mandatory and cannot be left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/ request for reconsideration will be entertained.

Candidate found ineligible at any stage of DrNB Final examination, will not be permitted to appear in the examination. In an unlikely event of any ineligible candidate appearing and / or passing the DrNB examination, the results / candidature of such candidate shall be cancelled and / or is deemed to be cancelled, even if result has been declared.

Candidature of candidates who are allowed to appear provisionally in the examination shall be cancelled and result, if declared, shall be treated as null and void if they are found at any stage not to fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed.

NBEMS reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any candidate who is not eligible to appear in the DrNB Final Examinations even though the Admit Card / Roll Number has been issued or name / roll number is displayed on NBEMS website.

Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future exam nor refunded on successful submission of application. Application once submitted cannot be withdrawn under any circumstances. No such requests shall be entertained.

Instructions in the information-bulletin are liable to change based on decisions taken by the NBEMS from time to time.

NBEMS reserves its absolute rights to alter the examination schedule, pattern, policy and guidelines at any time during the continuation or after the completion of DrNB training (3 or 6 years as the case may be). The candidate shall have no right whatsoever for claiming / deriving any right from past or present schedule, policy and guidelines of NBEMS.

The existing schedule, pattern, policy and guidelines are for ready reference only but in no way, they are or are ought to be treated as representative or acknowledgment of fact that NBEMS is bound to follow the same in future.

In case of any ambiguity in interpretation of any of the instructions / terms / rules / criteria regarding the determination of eligibility / conduct of examinations/ registration of candidates/information contained herein, the interpretation of the NBEMS shall be final and binding in nature. There is no equity or any rights that are / or deemed to be arising in favour of candidate. Candidates are required to refer to the latest bulletin or corrigendum that may be issued to incorporate these changes. Refer NBEMS website for latest updates or corrigendum.

Request shall not be entertained for change in date/center of examination under any circumstances. Candidates are advised not to canvass for such representation.

Copy of application form submitted may be retained by the candidate for future reference.

Admit Cards for DrNB Final Examination shall be available to downloaded at NBEMS website from 21-04-2026 onwards.

Result for DrNB Final Examinations shall be displayed on the website.

DrNB Final Theory Examination April 2026 session shall be conducted by NBEMS at various exam centers engaged for the purpose. Candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the route and location of the exam center well in advance to avoid any last-minute delay in arrival to the exam center. Please refer Chapter on details of Test Day Procedures.

The examination test center staff on duty is authorized to verify the identity of candidates and may take steps to verify and record the identity of candidates. Candidates are required to extend requisite cooperation.

Possession / Use of mobile phones / Electronic devices is strictly prohibited in the premises of NBEMS test Centers. Candidates shall be liable for penal action for Possession / Use of Mobile phones / Electronic devices. Resorting to use of any unfair practice in DrNB Final Theory Examination April 2026 shall be dealt with as per the Unfair Mean Guidelines of NBEMS. Such candidates shall be imposed academic and / or criminal punishments as may be applicable. Please go through guidelines detailed in Chapter on use of unfair means in the examination.

The applicant candidates should communicate with NBEMS regarding matters related to DrNB Final Examinations as per prescribed communication protocols detailed under Chapter on Communication Protocol.

Candidates are encouraged to communicate for DrNB Final Theory April 2026 through “Helpdesk” tab which can be accessed after the applicant login to its application account. The correspondence through post should be addressed to the Executive Director, National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, Medical Enclave, Mahatma Gandhi Marg, Ansari Nagar, New Delhi-110029. Candidates are requested to super scribe the envelope with the subject matter of the correspondence for expeditious processing.

The jurisdiction for court cases/disputes shall be at New Delhi only.

Fee Structure

Applications forms once submitted cannot be withdrawn. Fee shall neither be carried forward to a future date nor refunded under any circumstances. Any claim for refund, adjustment or carrying forward of Application fee will not be entertained after successful submission of application.

How to pay: The prescribed exam fee should be remitted through payment gateway provided using UP I/ Credit Card or a Debit Card issued by banks in India or other modes as may be made available and have been provided on the web page. Fee cannot be deposited through any mode other than the payment gateway available while submitting online application form submission.

Examination fees in respect of candidates who are absent or declared ineligible due to any reason will be forfeited. Candidates are advised to read the rule position carefully and satisfy the terms and conditions for fulfilment of eligibility criteria before proceeding for payment of fees.

Kindly ensure that the payment made for examination fee is successful and confirmation of the same can be seen in the application form under payment status reflected as “S” (for successful). In case the status is shown as pending, the payment might be stuck with your bank and might be cleared at a later date. The application submission process in not completed till such time the status of payment is reflected as “S” in application form. NBEMS shall not be responsible for rejection of your application due to delay in settlement of the payment by your bank to NBEMS.

It is at the discretion of the applicant to make another payment for completing the application submission process. In an event of receipt of duplicate/multiple examination fees towards the same application ID, NBEMS shall refund the excess fees received for an application retaining the prescribed examination fee, after closure of application window. The time for refund of such excess fee varies from case to case depending upon the complete availability & verification of such multiple transaction details.

Enrolment for Convocation:

The enrolment fees for convocation has to be paid during the submission of online application form. The payment receipt number of enrolment fees has to be submitted mandatorily in the online application form.

How to Pay: The payment has to be done in Online mode only, through the following steps:

Visit the NBEMS website.

Go to “Digital Services” tab and click on “Miscellaneous Fee Payment Online”.

Choose option “Enrolment for convocation” under the “Purpose of payment”.

Name of Applicant: It should be strictly as filled in the application form.

Roll No. of concerned Examination: Please fill in the “Application ID” of the online application form.

Email ID and Mobile Number: It should be strictly the same Email ID used in the application form.

Correspondence Address: Fill in your correspondence address.

Brief details of Purpose of Payment: Fill “Enrolment for Convocation”

Enter the OTP generated through Email ID and Click on “Submit and Pay”.

No other mode of payment is acceptable.

The payment receipt number generated is alphanumeric. It should be carefully filled in the application form of DNB Final Theory and Practical Examination.

Those candidates who have already paid the Enrolment fees may fill in the receipt number of the same in the application form. It is clarified that the Enrolment Fee needs to be paid only once.

The payment acknowledgement slip generated should be submitted in the application form mandatorily.

Payment of enrolment fees for convocation in itself is not sufficient for awarding the degree. The concerned candidates are awarded with the degree only if they are eligible and have qualified the Final Theory and Practical Examinations.

Examination for Super Specialties

DrNB Final is a two-stage examination comprising of theory and practical examination. The list of Specialties in which candidates can undertake DrNB Final examination – April 2026 is mentioned at Annexure-II.

An eligible candidate who has qualified the theory examination is permitted to appear in the practical examination. Those who fail to qualify the theory examination are required to reappear in the theory examination.

The practical examination of the session in which the candidate qualifies the theory examination shall be the mandatory First attempt. This shall be counted as ‘First Attempt’ irrespective of whether the candidate choose to appear or remain absent. A candidate unsuccessful in the first attempt of practical examination or remaining absent in first attempt is permitted to undertake one more attempt of practical examination. This second attempt can be availed in next two consecutive sessions of DrNB Final (Super Specialty) Examinations.

Example: Candidates qualifying theory examination of April 2026 shall appear for their first attempt in the practical exams immediately following the theory examination of that session compulsorily and in the event of they not passing this practical examination, the candidate(s) may take second (and last) attempt at the practical exams of next two consecutive sessions of examination as and when conducted.

Absenteeism from Practical Examination after successful submission of application is counted as an attempt. Candidates who would fail to qualify the practical examination in all permissible attempts shall be required to reappear in the theory examination.

Examination (Super Specialties):

Theory Examination

• 300 Maximum Marks: 300

• The theory exam comprises of three question papers, maximum marks 100 each.

• There are 10 short notes of 10 marks each, in each of the papers

• The number of short notes and their respective marks weightage may vary in some subjects/some papers

• Maximum time permitted is 3 hours for each question paper.

• Candidate must score at least 50% of maximum marks to qualify the theory exam i.e. candidate scoring 150 or more marks out of 300 shall be declared ‘pass’ in theory examination.

• Candidate must score at least 150/300 in the aggregate of 3 papers to qualify the theory examination. Grace marks of up to 2% of maximum marks i.e. 6/300 shall be given only to the candidates falling in the zone of consideration i.e. securing between 144-149 marks out of 300.

• The grand total of marks obtained in Final theory examination shall be a whole number. Accordingly, aggregate marks of all theory papers obtained in decimals of 0.5 or more shall be rounded up to the next higher whole number. Further, aggregate marks of all theory papers obtained in decimals of less than 0.5 shall be rounded down to the nearest whole number. There shall be no “rounding off” of marks obtained in individual theory papers.

• Only those candidates who have qualified the theory examination are permitted to take the practical examination.

Practical Examination

• 300 Maximum Marks: 300

• Comprises of OSCE and / or Clinical Examination, and Viva.

• Candidate must obtain a minimum of 150/300 marks to qualify for the Practical Examination.

• There are no grace marks in Practical Examination.

• There are a maximum of two attempts that can be availed by a candidate for Practical Examination.

• First attempt is the practical examination following immediately after the declaration of theory results.

• The second attempt shall be permitted out of the next 2 sessions of DrNB Final Examination.

• Absentation from Practical Examination after successful submission of application is counted as an attempt. The First practical examination after qualifying theory examination shall be compulsorily counted as first attempt whether the candidate appears in it or not.

• Requests for Change in center/date of examination are not entertained, as the same is not permissible. Candidates are required not to canvass with NBEMS for the same. However, in exceptional situations such as advanced pregnancy, NBEMS considers requests for allocating practical centres in vicinity provided that such requests are made before announcement of practical centres and are duly supported with medical documents

• The final result of a DrNB Super Specialty trainee in the DrNB Final Exit Examination will be declared only after acceptance of his/her Thesis by the NBEMS. In case, the Thesis is not accepted, the result will be kept withheld.

• NBEMS reserves its right to make amendment to the scheme of practical examination with prior intimation to the applicant candidates.

Eligibility for appearing in the examination

DrNB Super Specialty Candidates (Post MD/MS/DNB Broad specialty):

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates who have undergone training as a DrNB trainee at any of the NBEMS accredited institute after having registered with NBEMS as a DrNB trainee and are completing their prescribed (as per letter of registration issued by NBEMS) training as a DrNB trainee by 31.08.2026 & on submission of certificate to this effect, can undertake the DrNB Final Examination in the same specialty.

And

Appearance in minimum mandatory number of Formative Assessment Test (FAT)** towards eligibility to appear in DrNB Final Examinations is:-

Course Minimum required number of appearances in FAT to appear in DNB Final Examination:
DrNB Post MD / MS / DNB Two

And

Thesis should be submitted on or before 12-03-2026.

• Submission of Training Completion Certificate indicating details of leave taken during DrNB training for DrNB trainees is an essential pre- requisite. In case the candidate does not submit the training Completion certificate (as per applicable format given in Annexure III & IV) along with the application form, his/her application shall be rejected and fees forfeited.

• Request for extension in cut-off date for completion of training for the purpose of eligibility determination for DrNB final Examination shall not be considered.

• Candidates who have completed their DrNB training while applying for DrNB Final Examination shall be required to submit Final Training Completion Certificate (FTCC) as per format prescribed in Annexure - IV. Such candidates submitting Provisional Training Completion Certificate (PTCC) shall not be allowed to appear in the examination.

• Candidates whose DrNB training is ongoing while applying for DrNB Final Examination shall be required to submit Provisional Training Completion Certificate (PTCC) as per format in Annexure-III. The PTCC must confirm that the candidate would be able to complete his / her training by the prescribed cut-off, after taking into consideration all leave taken vis-a-vis the maximum permissible leave as per NBEMS leave rules and the required period of extension, if any. Such candidates are required to submit Final Training Completion Certificate (FTCC) as per format in Annexure-IV immediately on completion of their training. Such candidates shall be provisionally allowed to appear for DrNB Final Examination subject to completion of their DrNB training by the prescribed cut-off date.

• Candidates who submit their Provisional TCC with correct leave details projecting their training completion on / before the prescribed cut-off date for the examination, happen to avail more leave after applying for the examination due to some unforeseen reasons which might take their training beyond the prescribed cutoff date, shall NOT be declared INELIGIBLE for the examination.

• Candidates who fail to submit the prescribed documents within the stipulated timeline, and in any case prior to the issuance of admit cards for the examination, shall be declared ineligible. No representations, requests for extension, or appeals shall be entertained in this regard. Applications of such candidates for the final examination shall be deemed cancelled, and the examination fee paid shall stand forfeited without further notice or correspondence.

Candidates who are found to have deficiencies in the documents submitted, but are permitted to appear in the examination PROVISIONALLY will be strictly required to submit the requisite documents within 15 (fifteen) days from the date of completion of the examination.

Failure to submit the prescribed document(s) within the stipulated period and through the designated portal (OEEP) shall render the candidature null and void, and the application shall be treated as cancelled without any further notice or correspondence. No representations in this regard shall be entertained thereafter.

• If such a candidate qualifies the theory and practical examination, his / her Provisional Certificate shall only be issued on completion of his / her DrNB training and submission of Final TCC to this effect.

• If such a candidate qualifies theory examination but fails to qualify the practical examination, his / her candidature for theory examination shall remain valid and he / she shall be allowed to appear in the next remaining attempt(s) of practical examination, provided that he / she completes his / her DrNB training before the next attempt of practical examination.

• However, candidates who at any stage are found to have misrepresented / failed to disclose the complete details of leave taken by them, in their Provisional TCC, shall be declared INELIGIBLE on failing to complete their training on/before the prescribed cut-off date for the examination. Candidature of such candidates for DrNB Final Examination shall stand cancelled and result, if any declared, shall be treated as null and void. It is the responsibility of candidate to furnish approval of NBEMS for leave availed by them wherever it was required to have been obtained from NBEMS.

DM/MCh Qualified Candidates:

• Candidates who have passed the final examination, on or before 31.01.2026, leading to the award of a Doctoral Degree (DM/MCh), from an Indian University, which is duly recognized as per provisions of the National Medical Commission (NMC) Act, 2019 can apply for the DrNB Final examination in the same Super Specialty.

• Submission of proof of having qualified final examination for DM/MCh degree on or before 31.01.2026 is an essential prerequisite. In case the candidate does not submit the requisite proof of qualifying final examination for DM/MCh degree by the prescribed cut-off date, his / her candidature shall be cancelled & fees forfeited.

Post MBBS Direct 6 Years Candidates

Candidates enrolled for DrNB Direct 6 year courses in Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery are required to take Part – I & Part – II (Final) Examination.

Part-I Theory Examination for Direct 6 Years Courses

Part-I On completion of 2 years of DrNB training subject to fulfilment of Examination eligibility criteria.

• Candidates enrolled for Direct 6-year courses (Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardio Thoracic & Vascular Surgery and Neurosurgery) can take Part-I Examination on completion of their 2 years of DrNB training by the prescribed cut-off date subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria. The cut-off date for completion of 2 years DrNB (Part-I) training for the purpose of eligibility for DrNB Part-I Examination April 2026 is 31.08.2026.

• DrNB Part-I (Theory) Examination for candidates of Direct 6 year courses in Paediatric Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Neurosurgery and Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery comprises of Two question papers.

• There are 10 short notes of 10 marks each in the question paper.

• Maximum time permitted is 3 hours for each paper.

• Candidate must score at least 50% of maximum marks to qualify the theory exam i.e. candidate scoring 100 or more marks out of 200 shall be declared ‘pass’ in theory examination.

• Candidate must score at least 100/200 in the aggregate of 2 papers to qualify the theory examination. Grace marks of up to 2% of maximum marks i.e. 4/200 shall be given only to the candidates falling in the zone of consideration i.e. securing between 96-99 marks out of 200.

• The grand total of marks obtained in Final theory examination shall be a whole number. Accordingly, aggregate marks of all theory papers obtained in decimals of 0.5 or more shall be rounded up to the next higher whole number. Further, aggregate marks of all theory papers obtained in decimals of less than 0.5 shall be rounded down to the nearest whole number. There shall be no “rounding off” of marks obtained in individual theory papers.

• The practical examination of the session in which the candidate qualifies the theory examination shall be the mandatory first attempt. A candidate unsuccessful in the first attempt of practical examination is permitted to undertake two more attempt(s) of practical examinations. These Two attempts shall be any two practical examinations conducted in next Three consecutive sessions of DrNB Final Examinations.

Example: Candidates qualifying theory examination of April 2026 shall appear for their First attempt in the practical exams immediately following the theory examination of that session compulsorily and in the event of they not passing this practical examination, the candidate(s) may take any Two attempts at the practical exams of next Three consecutive sessions of examination as and when conducted.

• NBEMS reserves its right to make amendment to the scheme of practical examination with prior intimation to the applicant candidates.

Part-II Theory Examination (Final) for Direct 6 Years Courses

• Candidates who joined Direct 6 years DrNB course in Plastic surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic & Vascular surgery or Neurosurgery and have successfully qualified Part-I examination as direct 6 years candidates can take Part-II (Final) Examination on completion of 5 years of DrNB training by the prescribed cut-off date, subject to fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

• The cut-off date for completion of 5 years DrNB training for the purpose of eligibility for DrNB Final (Part-II) Examination April 2026 is 31.08.2026.

• Part-II (Final) Examination is common for candidates of 3 years and Direct 6 years DrNB courses in the respective super specialties. However, Direct 6 years candidates appearing in DrNB final examination shall be exempted from appearing in question Paper–I. They will be required to attempt question paper II & III only. For details of Examination scheme for Part – II (Final) Examination, kindly refer to Section 4.1.

Thesis Submission to NBEMS

• As per NBEMS norms, writing a thesis is essential for all DrNB candidates towards partial fulfilment of eligibility for award of DrNB degree certificate.

• DrNB trainees who have failed to submit their thesis to NBEMS for assessment by 12-03-2026 are not eligible to apply for DrNB Final Theory Examination - April 2026.

• The status of thesis submission/acceptance, as may be applicable, shall be verified the time of submission of online application for DrNB Final Theory Examination.

The date, time and venue of practical examination shall be intimated to all candidates who are eligible to appear in Practical examination through their Online Exit Examination Portal (OEEP) account. The schedule of practical examinations is also notified at NBEMS website under the tab “Practical Exam Centre”

NBEMS does not send communication through emails/ post regarding allotment of Practical Examination Centre. Candidates are advised to check NBEMS website for details of practical examination centre notified. The admit cards will be uploaded at OEEP account of concerned candidates which can be downloaded by the Bonafide candidates using their login credentials at NBEMS website (OEEP webpage).

NBEMS reserves its rights to allot a practical center anywhere in the country; the candidates shall make their own arrangement for travel/ boarding etc. Requests for Change in center/date of examination are not entertained, as the same is not permissible. Candidates are required not to canvass with NBEMS for the same. However, in exceptional situations of High risk / advanced pregnancy, NBEMS considers requests for allocating practical centres in vicinity provided that such requests are made before announcement of practical centres and are duly supported with medical documents.

Such requests should be substantiated with relevant medical documents clearly mentioning the nature of risk, gestational age, EDD and other relevant findings duly signed by the treating obstetrician. Requests without substanstative documents shall not be considered under any circumstances.

NBEMS shall only consider such requests subject to the availability of the examination centres in vicinity and other logistics. NBEMS reserves the right to allocate practical examination centers to candidates anywhere in India and the practical examination centers allotted shall be final and binding on the candidates, even if the requests are made as mentioned above.

Admit Card:

The admit card of the candidate for theory examination shall be available for download at NBEMS website from 21-04-2026 onwards. Candidates are required to take print out of their admit card from the website, paste their photograph at the designated place and appear at exam center along with one of the following original and valid/non-expired ID proof:

• PAN Card

• Driving License

• Voter ID

• Passport

• Aadhaar Card (with Photograph)

Declaration of DrNB Final Examination Result:

• DrNB final is a qualifying examination.

• Results of DrNB final examinations (theory & practical) are declared as PASS / FAIL. In case, the applicant candidate is provisionally eligible on date of declaration of result his/her result shall be withheld & shall be declared only upon status being eligible, on receipt of required documents by the prescribed cut-off date.

• Paper-wise marks and Grand total of marks obtained shall be published in a score card which will be available for download to bonafide candidates through “candidate login” under application link shortly. Same can be seen at NBEMS website https://natboard.edu.in also

The score shall be available on NBEMS website only for a period of Six (06) months from the date of issuance.

• Provisional Certificate (PC): Candidates successful in the practical examination are issued a Provisional Certificate of Passing DrNB Final Examination. Provisional Certificates issued to qualified candidates shall be valid till the DrNB Degree certificates are conferred upon them in the convocation. It is valid for all purposes, including but not limited to, employment, registration with state medical councils, higher education etc. The PC issued by NBEMS are bilingual with signed document being issued in the Hindi Language and its English translation is printed overleaf. An authenticate PC issued on NBEMS letter head shall bear the signatures of issuing authority and a dispatch number. PC issued to qualified candidates of DrNB Final Examination shall also bear an embossed stamp of NBEMS.

Under normal circumstances the certificates of passing (PC) are issued to the candidates within four weeks of declaration of results. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, this period may vary.

No separate certificate for passing theory examination will be issued.

• Marksheet: The marks obtained in Final Theory and Practical Examinations can be seen at NBEMS website by all appeared candidates through candidate login.

Combined marksheet of Theory and Practical Examinations shall be issued to all qualified candidates along with their Provisional Certificates (PC).

• Digital copies / photocopies of theory answer scripts: Candidate who would fail to qualify the DrNB Final Theory Examination can seek weblinks to access the digital copies of their answer scripts by paying** ₹ 100/- (plus GST@18%) per question paper. Request for providing the same can be made ONLY through Miscellaneous Fee Payment Online Portal (https://natboard.edu.in/mPay/feesubmission) of NBEMS, within Seven (07) calendar days of declaration of theory result of the concerned specialty. Requests received after the prescribed window shall not be entertained and fee submitted for such delayed requests shall be forfeited.

• Candidates who would fail to qualify the Practical Examination can obtain detailed marksheet of practical examination on submission of a request through Communication Web Portal of NBEMS and on payment of a fee** of ₹ 1,000/- within Thirty (30) calendar days of declaration of Practical Result of concerned specialty. The prescribed fee** can be paid online through NBEMS website.

• Re-evaluation: For candidate who would fail to qualify the DrNB Final Theory Examination, there shall be a provision for re-evaluation of unassessed answer(s) only, in a rare event of an answer(s) being wrongly marked as NOT ATTEMPTED by the assessor. Request for re-evaluation of an unassessed answer(s) can be made ONLY through Miscellaneous Fee Payment Online Portal (https://natboard.edu.in/mPay/feesubmission) within Ten (10) calendar days of the declaration of theory result of the concerned specialty. An administrative fee** of ₹ 500/- per paper shall be charged for the same which can be paid online through NBEMS website.

Requests for re-evaluation of an unassessed answer(s) made after Ten (10) calendar days of the declaration of theory result shall not be entertained and fee submitted for such delayed requests shall be forfeited.

There shall be no re-evaluation of already assessed answers. Request for reassessment of an already assessed answer shall be summarily rejected.

• Duplicate provisional certificate: For issuing a duplicate Provisional Certificate, submit a request letter stating reasons to issue a duplicate certificate, copy of NCR lodged with police authorities clearly mentioning the loss/non-receipt of certificate, affidavit in support of application (attested by public notary/oath commissioner/judicial magistrate), fee** of ₹ 1000/- + GST@18% for document up to preceding 3 years and ₹ 2000/- + GST@18% for documents more than 3 years old.

The prescribed fee can be paid online through NBEMS website through the tab Miscellaneous Fee Payment Online.

Instructions to Fill Online DrNB Final Application Form

Candidates shall be required to go to NBEMS website for submission of DrNB Final Examination application to NBEMS.

After successful registration and submission of application, candidates can login to their OEEP account to check the status of the online application submitted for DrNB Final Examinations, any deficiency communicated to them to download the admit cards. OEEP can be accessed under Trainees Login >> Exit Examinations. Candidates can login to OEEP using the mobile number registered while filling up the online application.

Application for DrNB Final Theory Exam can only be submitted online through NBEMS website. There is no other methodology for application submission. Application submitted through any other mode shall be summarily rejected.

There are two stages in application process which require login through two different web pages:

Apply for DrNB Final Examinations: The online application form for DrNB Final Examinations can only be accessed under the quick link Examinations (top bar on website) >> Exit Examination >> DrNB Final Examinations >> Application Link. To create a user and to submit the application for April 2026, click on this link. After registration of user and getting a User ID, again click on this link and login to complete & submit the application form.

Following steps shall be required to be completed in sequence for application submission to NBEMS:

B. Complete Application form, Examination City Selection and Upload Prescribed Documents – Online

C. Pay Examination Fee - Online

The applicant candidate shall register a user for submission of application. The username and password shall be shared on registered mail ID. On successful registration, the applicant shall be required to complete the DrNB Final Examinations application form, pay the prescribed examination fee and upload the prescribed documents online. Candidates shall be able to preview the application form for any corrections required before final submission.

The applicant candidate may save and print the application form submitted online for future reference. There is no requirement to submit the hard copy print out of the application form and documents uploaded to NBEMS. Candidate Login after Application Submission: This login would allow tracking the status of application, deficiency issued if any and access to practical examination details once the candidate qualifies the theory examination. This login shall be active only for those who have successfully submitted an online application. It may take few days after application submission for this login to be active. This web page can be accessed under Trainees Login tile on home page >> Exit Examinations >> OEEP.

The Online Exit Examinations Portal shall be the window of communication between NBEMS and the candidate. DrNB Final Examinations related information shall be accessible to the candidate at this portal.

A. Register a User - Online

New User Registration: All candidates desirous of applying for DrNB Final Examinations shall be required to create a user through the Application link under the tab DrNB Final Examination on NBEMS website. If password is lost, it can be retrieved by clicking “Forgot Your Password”.

After opening the NBEMS website, click on quick link Examination (available in top bar) to access the Exit Examinations >> DrNB Exit Examination. To apply for DrNB Final Examination April 2026, Click at “Application Link”. You will be diverted to a Registration/login page.

If the applicant candidate is a first-time user at this portal, click “Register New User?”

Candidates who have already registered a user to apply for DrNB Final Examination in previous sessions are strongly advised not to re-register a new user.

• Username / User ID: Candidates who would register a “New User” will get their system generated username/User ID and password at the email ID provided on completion of profile creation. Application ID is generated after successful submission of an application. Application ID is not the User ID for login purpose.

• Name: Name in your examination application should match with the name in the Letter of Registration issued by NBEMS or Name mentioned in DM/MCh degree certificate, as the case may be.

• In an event your name has changed subsequent to getting registered with NBEMS / issuance of DM / MCh degree certificate, you can apply in your changed name with documents in supports of changed name such as Gazette notification of change in name, supporting affidavit, Govt issued ID proof in changed name etc. NBEMS may require additional documents in support/ clarifications for accepting the application with changed name.

• In an event your name has changed prior to getting registered with NBEMS / issuance of DM / MCh degree certificate, you can apply in your changed name after getting your name changed in letter of registration issued by NBEMS/DM/MCh degree certificate issued by your university.

• Name once registered for the DrNB Final Examination cannot be edited in the applications to be submitted. Request for change of name after submission of application shall not be considered.

• Gender, Date of Birth and Nationality: Indicate your gender; Day, Month & Year of your birth and Nationality.

• Email ID: Email ID chosen by the applicant candidate shall be verified through a system generated OTP for user creation. Same email ID cannot be used for registration of any other user concurrently. Please note that all email correspondence with the applicant candidate shall be done at this email ID only. Correspondence received from any other email ID of the candidate shall not be entertained.

• Mobile No.: Please provide the desired mobile number for receiving all Exit Examinations related communications. Please note that all telephonic correspondence with the applicant candidate shall be done at this mobile number only. You can always modify the existing profile by logging in using your user ID and password.

Complete Application form, Examination City Selection and Upload prescribed documents - Online

• After registering the user, please choose the correct tab for the examination you wish to appear in (DrNB Final Examination - April 2026 - Theory & Practical OR DrNB Final Examination - April 2026 - Only Practical). The candidate can either continue to fill the desired application form by clicking at the link “Go to Application Form” or can fill the application at a later stage after login in using the User ID and Password received at email.

While filling the application form, the candidate shall be required to select one of choices under following heads:

The candidates who have been DrNB trainees shall be required to enter their Registration Number provided by NBEMS in the letter of registration issued to them. After entering the registration number, click on the link “Click here to see thesis status” to fetch your thesis status. Candidates who fulfill the thesis related requirement prescribed in the bulletin shall alone be allowed to complete the application form. For any query related to thesis status/status not being updated in NBEMS database, please contact thesis section of NBEMS through the communication web portal of NBEMS.

Upload of Prescribed Documents, Photograph and Scanned Signatures: The candidate shall be required to upload scanned copies of original documents at indicated places as per details mentioned below:

Applicable only for DM/MCh Candidates:

• MBBS Degree Certificate

• DM/MCh Degree certificate/Provisional Certificate (PC)

If PC/Degree Certificate of DM/MCh qualification has not been issued, a copy of result notification duly certified by the Dean/Registrar/Principal of the university/medical college as a proof of declaration of DM/MCh result in public domain on or before 31.01.2026 to be submitted. Such candidates shall be required to submit the Provisional Certificate/Degree Certificate of DM/MCh qualification before declaration of DrNB final theory results.

• Bonafide certificate confirming to the name of medical college from which eligible qualification i.e. DM / MCh has been pursued.

• Payment receipt of Enrolment for Convocation.

• Following documents supporting post graduate qualification being recognized as per the provisions of the NMC Act 2019:

• Self attested copy of print-out of NMC website confirming to the additional PG Degree (DM / MCh) qualification being “Recognized” / “Permitted" as per provisions of the NMC Act.

• If additional PG degree qualification is NOT listed as “Recognized” / “Permitted" on NMC website, please upload one of the following two documents:

• Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) issued by NMC / MCI, OR

• Additional Qualification Registration Certificate (AQRC) issued by State Medical Council + IMR Certificate issued by NMC / MCI wherein said additional PG Degree qualification (DM / MCh) is listed as registered.

Pay Examination Fee:

Degree Enrolment Fee: Enrolment for Convocation fee must be paid as mentioned in the Chapter 3 - Examination Fee. The receipt (sample payment receipt is attached at Annexure-VI) of the same should be submitted in the application form mandatorily. The fee for Degree is ₹ 2,500/- (Excluding payment gateway charges, as may be applicable). The Degree will be conferred during the convocation.

Payment of Fee: The candidate shall be required to make requisite payment of prescribed examination fee online during submission of online Application form.

After successful payment of required fee, the process of submission of the application of the candidate shall be completed.

Acknowledgement of Online Application Submission: An acknowledgement email shall be sent for receipt of online DrNB Final Examinations Application at NBEMS. The acknowledgement shall bear an Application Form ID. Please preserve this form ID for future correspondence with NBEMS regarding application.

Candidates are advised to complete and submit the online application form well before the last date and not to wait till the closing hours. NBEMS shall not be responsible for any technical issues such as website congestion, payment failure, server-related problems, or any other difficulties faced by candidates during the last days of submission. Candidates are further advised to submit their application during working days and within the stipulated time so that any discrepancy or error, if noticed, may be resolved in a timely manner. Delay in submission of the application due to any reason shall be solely the responsibility of the candidate, and no request for extension of time shall be entertained.

Quick Links on Online Portal:

After successful submission of online application for NBEMS DrNB Final Examination, the candidate access Online Exit Examination Portal (OEEP) at NBEMS website and needs to login through the Trainee Login tile on home page of the website >> Exit Examinations >> OEEP. This login shall be active few days after the application submission.

Mobile OTP based login: The candidate shall be able to login to Online Exit Examinations Portal using the OTP sent at their registered mobile number.

Status of Application: The applications submitted by the candidates can be tracked through Online Exit Examinations Portal (OEEP) for status of application processing. Updated processing status of application submitted shall be reflected on the portal.

Candidates who are issued admit card by NBEMS shall be able to download the admit card / other communications through Online Exit Examinations Portal. Admit card can also be downloaded from the Application link used for submission of application.

The candidate shall also be able to upload deficient documents, if so required by NBEMS, through OEEP.

Update Profile: The candidate shall be able to update the mobile number, email ID, correspondence address by clicking “Update Profile” quick link. No other parameter shall be updated in NBEMS records unless supported with appropriate authenticated documents.

IMAGE UPLOAD INSTRUCTIONS

Note: Please read the guidelines carefully. Photographs uploaded in the application form that are not in accordance with the guidelines will lead to the rejection of the application form.

Before applying online, a candidate will be required to have a scanned (digital) image of his/her photograph, signature and thumb impression as per the specifications given below. Your online application will not be registered unless you upload your photograph, signature and thumb impression as specified.

A. PHOTOGRAPH

Processes for photo upload:

The candidate shall be required to upload TWO photographs:

1. A REAL TIME PHOTOGRAPH taken by the webcam/in-built camera of the computer system while filling the online application form:

a. Confirm that the system used to fill the form has an in-built camera/webcam.

b. Be properly dressed in a formal attire.

c. Stand/sit against a white background (Avoid distracting backgrounds)

d. There should be bright light falling on your face but not on the webcam.

e. No objects should be behind you while capturing the photograph through web cam). The image must not include other objects or additional people. Ensure that you are only one person in picture.

f. The image must contain the full face, ears, neck, and shoulders of the entrant in frontal view with a neutral, non-smiling expression and with eyes open and directed at the camera.

g. The image must not contain any parts of the body below the entrant's shoulders.

h. Click on “Capture Photo” button in the application form.

1. Upload a RECENT PHOTOGRAPH (Not more than 3 months old) which can be prepared in the following way:

• IN CASE OF GROSS DIFFERENCE IN YOUR APPEARANCE IN REAL TIME PHOTOGRAPH AND UPLOADED PHOTOGRAPH, THE APPLICATION WILL BE REJECTED.

a. Preference to be given to upload a photograph taken in a photo-studio in last 3 months to avoid any likely error in photograph. If you decide to take the photograph at home, please follow the instructions mentioned below.

b. Be properly dressed in a formal attire.

c. Click colour photograph in bright light using any high-resolution digital device (preferably with > 5-megapixel resolution). Avoid using flash as it tends to create a shadow on the white background. Images which are taken in with improper light shall be rejected.

d. Avoid selfie; ask someone else to take the picture for you. They might also help to direct you a bit, like telling you to straight your head or tuck your hair behind your ears. Selfies shall be rejected.

e. Do not wear spectacles (to avoid reflection in the glass), cap, goggles, stethoscope

around neck, makeup, ornaments while getting the photo shot.

f. Stand/sit against a white background (Avoid distracting backgrounds)

g. No object should be in the background. The image must not include other objects or additional people. Ensure that you are only one person in picture. Images having any object in the background shall be rejected.

h. The image must contain the full face, ears, neck, and shoulders of the entrant in frontal view with a neutral, non-smiling expression and with eyes open and directed at the camera.

i. The image must not contain any parts of the body below the entrant's shoulders Images having parts of body below the shoulder shall be rejected.

Checklist for editing & uploading the digital photograph:

a. Transfer the photograph from the digital device to a computer / laptop.

b. Photograph is in colour with white background.

c. Your face is clearly visible.

d. The size of image should be less than 80kb. Size of the image can be checked by right click on the image and then go to “Properties” link. (Maintain aspect ratio, i.e. height and width ratio to avoid distortion of image)

e. Image is in .jpg / .jpeg format.

f. Image is not blurred in the process of editing.

g. Digital enhancement or other alterations or retouching are not permitted.

h. Make sure your face takes up at least 70-80% of the frame.

B. SIGNATURE

Digital image of your Signature can be made in two ways:

• Using a digital device to directly image (i.e. camera)

• Scanning the signature

I. PREPARING DIGITAL IMAGE OF SIGNATURE USING A DIGITAL DEVICE (CAMERA)

Clicking image of signature using a digital device:

a. Draw a box of size 1.5 cm (height) x 3.5 cm (width). Use a black or dark blue ink pen to sign within this box.

b. Click the signature within the box in bright light conditions using any digital device (preferably with > 5-megapixel resolution). Avoid using flash.

c. Check the shadow of your hands/camera/smartphone etc. does not fall on the sheet.

Editing digital image of the signature:

a. Transfer the digital image to a computer / laptop.

b. If required, use auto-correct feature of image editing software so that the signature is clear against a white background.

c. Crop the image such that borders of box are reached.

d. Resize the image to 20 – 100 Kb (maintain aspect ratio, i.e. height and width ratio to avoid distortion of image)

II. SCANNING THE SIGNATURE:

a. The candidate should provide his / her complete signatures and not just initials.

b. The signatures should be done by the candidates only as it may be checked any time frequently.

c. Signature done on the blank white page without lines only will be accepted

d. Take the white sheet and mark the box size of 3.5 x 1.5 cm (width x height)

e. Sign inside the box with blue / black pen.

f. If the Candidate’s signature on the answer script, at the time of the examination, does not match the signature on the Attendance Sheet, the candidate will be disqualified.

g. Set the scanner to 200 dpi

h. The scanned image should be saved in .jpeg/.jpg format.

i. Crop only box area and not the complete white page.

j. The size of image should be less than 80kb.

C. THUMB IMPRESSION

Instruction for preparing digital image of thumb print

Taking a thumb-print

a. Draw a box of 3.5 cm x 1.5 cm (width x height) on a white sheet of paper (you may draw more than 1 box to take multiple thumb print and select the best).

b. Use a fresh blue / black colour ink pad.

c. Practice on a sheet of paper to get the proper thumb-print especially the density or darkness of the colour. The impression of the print should be clear and readable; neither dark nor smudged or light.

d. Clean your hands and dry them before you begin (oil / dirt can obscure the prints)

e. Gently press your LEFT THUMB against the ink pad and take a horizontal print of your left thumb within the box. Do not press too much or wriggle as it may lead to smudging of print.

a. Set the scanner to 200 dpi.

b. Save the scanned image of thumb-print as .jpg/.jpeg format.

c. Crop only box area.

d. The size of image should be less than 80kb. Size of the image can be checked by right click on the image and then go to “Properties” link.
