NBE extends application deadline for Formative Assessment Test 2026, details

According to the notice issued by the NBE in this regard, the extension has been granted following representations received from several candidates. NBEMS had initially invited applications for FAT 2026 through a notice issued on July 29.

Under the revised timeline, NBEMS-accredited institutions will be able to submit applications online and pay the examination fee from today, i.e. September 3, 2026, at 3:00 PM to September 6, 2026, at 11:55 PM.

Trainees, meanwhile, will have a slightly longer window and can complete their online application submission till September 8, 2026, at 11:55 PM. Below is the detailed schedule-

Pursuant to the representations from several candidates, the ‘Formative Assessment Test 2026’ applications for NBEMS trainees for the courses NBEMS Diploma, DNB Post MBBS, DrNB Super Speciality & DrNB (Direct 6 years) have been extended as follows-

All concerned Institutes and Candidates are advised to complete the application process within the revised timelines.

The process of online application submission for FAT 2026 requires both the NBEMS training institutions and NBEMS trainees to complete their components of the application process. Whereas the training institutions shall be required to add the trainees who will be appearing in the FAT 2026 and make the necessary payments of the examination fee, the respective NBEMS trainees who are added by the institution to appear in FAT 2026 shall be required to upload their photograph and signature, and select the test cities.
