NBE Extends Last Date of Submitting Thesis For DNB Final Theory Exam October 2023, details
Delhi: The National Board of Examinations (NBE) has extended the last date for submission of the Thesis for candidates scheduled to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - October 2023. This notification has been released for DNB Super Specialty Trainees of the 2020 admission session, DNB Post Diploma Trainees of the 2021 admission session, and Accredited Institutions.
As per the notice, the last date for submission of the Thesis for the candidates desirous of appearing in the DNB Final Theory Examination - October 2023 is extended till 15th September 2023.
As per NBEMS norms, writing a Thesis is essential for all DNB trainees towards the partial fulfillment of eligibility for a Diplomate of National Board (DNB) Degree.
NBEMS has noticed that several DNB/DrNB candidates have not submitted their Thesis protocol and thesis within the stipulated timelines as mentioned in the Thesis protocol and thesis submission guidelines. Meanwhile, NBEMS has been receiving numerous requests both from trainees and Accredited Institutions to extend the last date for submission of the Thesis, as trainees have not been able to complete their thesis.
The notice states that "In light of the above and in supersession of previously notified timelines, the last date for submission of Thesis for the candidates desirous to appear in DNB Final Theory Examination - October 2023 is extended till 15th of September, 2023".
No further extension shall be given, and those trainees who do not submit their Thesis by the 15th of September, 2023, shall be rendered ‘ineligible’ to appear in the DNB Final Theory Examination - October 2023.
The Government of India established the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) in 1975 with the objective of improving the quality of Medical Education by establishing high and uniform standards of postgraduate examinations in modern medicine on an all-India basis and utilizing existing infrastructure for capacity building. Currently, NBEMS conducts postgraduate and postdoctoral examinations in approved specialties, leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB) and Doctorate of National Board (DrNB), respectively.
