NEET 2020: NTA issues Alert on Fake notice circulating on social media, warns of action
New Delhi: Amid the nationwide panic due to COVID 19 outbreak, some unscrupulous elements are circulating fabricated information in the name of the National Testing Agency (NTA) concerning the upcoming prestigious MBBS and BDS entrance examination, National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, NEET 2020.
Taking cognizance of the same issue which is crucially misguiding the medical students, the NTA has issued an official notice alerting all the students, and authorities to be aware of the spoofed letters, circulars and notices in the NTA forwarded by some touts. The NTA has also warned of strict action against the guilty for circulating fake information on social media.
Recently, it had come to the notice of National Testing Agency (NTA) that a fake Public Notice dated 15.06.2020 with the subject line - Postponement of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG July – 2020 is being circulated through various sources and social media forums.
The NTA has taken it seriously and is investigating the source of such a fake notice with an intent to misguide candidates, parents and the general public. Stringent action would be taken against such anti-public elements, the official notice issued by the NTA on its official website states.
The NTA had earlier informed about the deferment of NEET 2020 via an official initiation. For all those MBBS and BDS aspirants, the dates for this year's National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET 2020, had been declared and it is going to be held on July 26, 2020. No such postponement has been done thereafter and all the notices deferring the date further than 26th July are all fake,
All candidates, parents and the public are hereby informed that no such decision has been taken by NTA or concerned authorities till date. The public is further being advised to be aware of any fake misguiding communication in this regard and rely only on the information available at the official website www.nta.ac.in and ntaneet.nic.in.
The latest official communication dated 11 May 2020 by NTA in this regard is available at NTA website.
Once again candidates, their parents and the general public are advised to check the information available on www.nta.ac.in and ntaneet.nic.in for updates.
