NEET 2025 registrations begin, exam on May 4- APPLY NOW!

New Delhi: The prestigious MBBS entrance exam NEET for this academic year's admissions will be conducted on May 4, 2025. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the registrations for inerested candidates and the process will will conclude on March 7.

It is the largest entrance exam in the country in terms of the number of candidates appearing for the test. In 2024, a record more than 24 lakh candidates took the exam. The NTA conducts the NEET every year for admission into medical colleges. A total of 1,08,000 seats are available for MBBS course. Approximately 56,000 of them are in government hospitals and about 52,000 in private colleges.

Admissions to undergraduate courses in Dentistry, Ayurveda, Unani and Siddha also utilise the results of the NEET for admission.

NEET 2025 applications:

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is inviting Online Applications for NEET (UG) - 2025 for admission to the undergraduate medical courses in all medical institutions in India. As per Section 14 of the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, the NEET (UG) has to be conducted as a common and uniform National Eligibility-Entrance Test [(NEET (UG)] for admission to undergraduate medical education in all medical institutions.

The NEET (UG)-2025 scores and merit list will also apply for admissions to BDS and BVSc & AH courses as followed in the past in accordance with the rules governed by respective regulatory bodies. Similarly, as per Section 14 of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine Act, 2020, there shall be a uniform NEET (UG) for admission to undergraduate courses in each of the disciplines i.e. BAMS, BUMS, and BSMS courses of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act.

NEET (UG) shall also be applicable to admission to the BHMS course under the National Commission for Homeopathy. MNS (Military Nursing Service) aspirants seeking admission to B.Sc. Nursing Courses being conducted at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals for the year 2025 are required to qualify for NEET (UG). The NEET (UG) score will be used for shortlisting for selection to the four-year B.Sc. Nursing course.

The exam will be held on 04th May 2025 and the duration of the examination will be 180 minutes (03 hours) from 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM (IST). The NEЕТ(UG) - 2025 will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. Assamese, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Important Instructions:

i. Candidates can apply for NEET (UG) - 2025 through the "Online" mode only through the website

ii. Submission of the Online Application Form may be done by accessing the NTA website. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.

iii. Candidate has to upload recent passport photograph, address proof, scanned detailed information please read the Information Bulletin carefully.

iv. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.

V. Candidates must strictly follow the instructions given in the Information Bulletin and on the NTA website. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

vi. Candidates must ensure that the e-mail address and Mobile Number provided in the Online Application Form are their own or Parents/Guardians' only, as all information/ communication will be sent by NTA through e-mail on the registered e-mail address or SMS on the registered Mobile Number only.

The NTA had last month announced that the crucial exam will continue to be conducted in pen and paper mode. The decision came after detailed deliberations between education and health ministries on whether to conduct the NEET-UG in pen and paper mode or online mode.

In the line of fire over alleged irregularities in NEET, the Centre had in July set up a panel to ensure transparent, smooth and fair conduct of examinations by NTA. According to the high-level panel headed by former ISRO Chief R Radhakrishnan, multi-stage testing for NEET-UG could be a viable possibility that needs to be followed up.

While NEET was last year plagued by several allegations of irregularities, including paper leaks, and litigation, UGC-NET was cancelled as the ministry received inputs that the integrity of the exam had been compromised. Both matters are being probed by the CBI.
