NEET Paper Leak linked to RJD's Tejashwi Yadav, alleges Bihar Deputy CM, demands Probe
Patna: Unfolding another development in the NEET paper leak row, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha has alleged that the arrested prime accused in the NEET ''paper leak'' is linked to officials associated with RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and demanded a probe into it.
According to a PTI report, addressing a press conference, Sinha claimed that the official was in constant touch with Sikander Prasad Yadvendu, the arrested prime accused in the case. “The official associated with Yadav used to arrange accommodation for Sikandar at guest houses in Patna and other places. I have details of messages which the official had sent to the persons concerned for arranging accommodation for Sikandar,” the deputy chief minister said.
He said he has the mobile number from which those messages were sent. Sinha said, "It needs to be thoroughly probed. Why is the RJD leader (Tejashwi Prasad) maintaining a stoic silence on this?"
There are reports suggesting that the accused was also associated with RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, when he was in judicial custody in Ranchi, the deputy chief minister said.
The Economic Offences Wing of Bihar Police had last month arrested 13 people as part of its investigation into the alleged paper leak in NEET-UG 2024. The arrested accused included examinees, their parents and alleged mastermind Sikander Prasad Yadvendu.
Medical Dialogues recently reported that the four arrested men have confessed that the question paper for the MBBS entrance test was leaked the previous night, as per NDTV report.
These four accused include NEET aspirant Yadav, his uncle Sikandar, who is a Junior Engineer at Danapur Municipal Council, and two others- Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand. They have confessed that they received the question paper for the National Eligibility-and-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 examination on the day before the exam date i.e. May 5, 2024. As per these accused, they were made to memorize the paper. In their statement to the Bihar police officials, these four accused stated that the exact questions were asked in the exam the next day.
Among these four, Yadav, who was taking coaching for the MBBS entrance exam at a Kota-based coaching hub, said that his uncle asked him to return since he had planned to leak the paper
Yesterday, a candidate in the exam, who was arrested for being an alleged accused in the matter, claimed that he got support from a Bihar minister. The accused candidate Yadav showed a letter on the letterhead of the said minister and claimed that using the said letter, he stayed in an NHAI government guest house in Patna. Apart from this, the accused also claimed that he received the same set of questions that came in the NEET exam during his stay at the guest house for remembrance.
