NEET PG 2023 expected to be held on January 23: Report
Even though there are speculations that NEXT will replace NEET PG next year and the exam pattern would change, there has not been any confirmation in this regard yet.
New Delhi: With the completion of the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Postgraduate Examination 2022 (NEET-PG 2022) and the declaration of results, the speculation regarding the schedule for NEET-PG 2023 has started.
Although there has not been any official announcement in this regard yet, as per media reports, the centralized PG medical entrance examination will be held somewhere around January 23, 2023.
While the authorities have not yet finalised the proposal of holding NEET PG in January 2023, in case of acceptance, an official notice can be expected next month on natboard.edu.in, adds Times Now.
However, the schedule for NEET PG 2023 shall only be released after MCC announces the NEET PG 2022 counselling schedule.
NEET-PG is the qualifying and ranking examination for students who wish to pursue PG medical degree and diploma courses in government or private medical institutes in the country. While the National Board of Examinations (NBE) conducts the examination, the counselling and seat allotment process is conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The Covid-19 pandemic messed up with the schedule for NEET-PG for the last two years. While last year the exam was finally conducted in September, 2021, this year the exam was held on May 21, 2022, despite several protests from the candidates regarding the exam schedule. In fact, the results for NEET PG 2022 were also declared within a record time, on June 1, 2022.
As per the latest media report by Times Now, the preparation for the next academic year has started and sources have now shared a tentative date for the NEET PG 2023, which is expected to held around January 23, 2023. Although exam date has not been finalised yet, the authorities are considering a proposal for conducting NEET PG 2023 in the beginning of the new year.
The reason holding the exam in January 2023 is the fact that if NBE indeed holds the exam in January, the entire academic calender is expected come back on track, which got messed up because of the constant deferment of exam schedule in the previous two years.
However, the daily adds that the exam schedule is tentative and not finalised yet. However, if the authorities accept this proposal, an official notice in this regard can be expected next month on the official website of NBE- natboard.edu.in.
In any case, the exam date will be released only after the authorities release the date for NEET PG 2022 counselling, which is expected to be announced soon on the website of the Medical Counselling Committee on mcc.nic.in.
